Description
COMPATIBLE WITH BETA RELEASE 0.4.90

The aliens arrive during one of the heights of the Cold War, with Earth divided between the Western and Eastern blocs, both heavily armed and ready for WW3.

Work in progress - the game is still on development, so expect bugs, crashes, broken saves, etc. And please report any bugs to the specific Steam or Discord threads.

The mod is currently being developed using the beta release of Terra Invicta (currently 0.4.49).

Includes:
* Seven new player factions to replace the vanilla ones: Strategic Defense Initiative, Operation RYaN, UN Secretariat, New World Order, United Front, Gladio and Enterprise;
* The nations and the bilateral relationships have been reset to the year of 1983, with the corresponding flags and names;
* Starting armies increased and renamed, nuclear and space programs also reset to the 1980s;
* 200+ historical organizations: KGB, FEMA, NASA, Stasi, Spetsnaz, Pravda, TASS, MiG, Sukhoi, Tupolev and others;
* New KGB Officer trait, exclusive to RYaN faction's starting council member, allows to purchase/use the KGB orgs;
* New Communist trait for councillors with three levels, required to purchase/use Eastern orgs, gives several bonuses but it also causes loyalty drops;
* Western orgs can't be purchased/used by councillors with the Communist trait;
* Environmental conditions (CO2, methane, etc.) and space programs reduced to reflect 1983;
* Miltech reduced by 0.3-0.5 points depending on the country;
* The Soviet Union starts with 6 control points, India and China with only 4;
* Several new unification projects: European Union, Pan-Europa (Germany unifies Europe instead of France), Western Alliance (Belgium unifies all the Western powers), Red Dawn (Soviet Union claims the USA), Communist International, Pan-Europa, Fall Of The Berlin Wall

Orion and NERVA drives are 1960 and 1970s projects that were completely abandoned before the 80s. The X-Ray laser was proposed for SDI but never worked/tested and exofighters (another 1960s concept) were sent to the trash when the Space Shuttle was developed in the 1970s.

Haven't tried it yet (I use 0.4106) but I wonder about some stuff. In early 1980s, the space programs of both superpowers were far more roboust and advanced (strategicaly if not technologicaly) than today. Things like Orion Drive, nuclear powered X-Ray Lasers or NERVA concepst, exofighters were far better conceptualised than today, as they were shelved and forgotten in early 1990s. So it would be cool if some of the space programs were more available to research in the beggining of the scenario. But it would probably need some overhaul of the tech tree.

Matvprok Its a randomly generated name from the base game namefiles, not related to the mod. names are generated anglacized (meaning stuff like you dont do feminine variations you pick one for both genders) All the nationalities in the base game generate with anglicized names.

In vTINationTemplate.en you have the following entries:

Is there any way to change the name of the Soviet Union to Union of Soviet Socialist Republics? I have tried to change it in TINationTemplate.en but it does not show up in game.

No, I'm not planning on doing other timelines. There's still a lot of work missing to make this a proper alternative scenario and I'd rather focus on that.
