Sound Scouter

Description
Overview :
Adding the "Sound Scouter" to visualize sound information (Volume, Radius).
This item is intended for testing purposes to understand the sound situation.
Confirmed to work with Build 41/42.

Features :
Equipping the "Sound Scouter" will visualize sound information.
  • 1. Pin and Circle Display
    • A pin is displayed at the sound source.
    • The pin shows the volume (top) and radius (bottom).
    • The color of the pin changes depending on the sound source.
      • Player: Orange
      • Zombie: Green
      • Others: Gray
    • A circle is drawn around the pin to represent the volume and radius of the sound.
      • Volume: The color inside the circle; the larger the volume, the darker the color.
      • Radius: The reach of the sound is represented by the size of the circle.
  • 2. Scouter Display
    • Equipping the Scouter will show a Scouter panel.
    • The panel displays sound information (source, xyz-coordinates, volume, radius) in text form.
    • Clicking the icon at the bottom of the panel will toggle the display of specific pin/circle/information ON/OFF.
    • The panel can be moved freely, and you can close it by pressing the red button.
    • If the panel is hidden, it can be re-displayed from the item's context menu.

How to Obtain :
You can obtain the "Sound Scouter" by selecting "Obtain the Sound Scouter" from the character's context menu.
  • It can be obtained only once per character.
  • After obtaining it, the menu will no longer be displayed.

Options :
In B41, These options are available with Mod Options.
  • Sound Pins Display : When the Sound Scouter is equipped, the Sound Pins will be displayed.
  • Sound Circles Display : When the Sound Scouter is equipped, the Sound Circles will be displayed.
  • Scouter Panel Display : When the Sound Scouter is equipped, the Scouter Panel will display automatically.
  • Sound Volume (Activated) : You can adjust the sound volume when the Sound Scouter is activated.
  • Sound Volume (Deactivated) : You can adjust the sound volume when the Sound Scouter is deactivated.
  • Sound Volume (Display Toggle) : You can adjust the sound volume when the Sound Scouter display is toggled.
  • Sound Volume (Recording Toggle) : You can adjust the sound volume when the Sound Scouter recording is toggled.

Known Issues :
  • In B41, the text size cannot be changed through options or so. Any size other than the default may cause display issues, and there are no plans to support this. However, B42 is already responsive so that the display will not collapse when the font size is changed, although it may become difficult to see.

Future plans :
  • Bug fix (if it exists)

Release Notes :
  • v1.2 - Compatible with Build 42.
  • v1.1 - Added several options.
  • v1.0 - New release.

Wait, did I get it right?
Will this mod finally show me visually the noise distance in build 42 in relation to the noise distance setting in the sandbox?

I play with 750 and I still don't understand in practice the influence of this

FINALLY this mod work as it should be. no minor problem while playing on new run

@PePePePePeil The sound of your own footsteps, the unnecessary sound of a sink or toilet, an incomprehensible sound source on the bare asphalt - everything is perfectly visible. But it doesn't show any zombie sound (footsteps, growling). Or so it should be?

Kakarooot!!!

Thank you for the report, it seems that a bug was created in the attachment/detachment decision when B42 was supported. Please try the latest version. Please let me know if you are still experiencing strange behavior.

Man this mod was good mod for radius sound debugger in 41 but it seems build 42 ruin this good mod like each time you wear either accesories and clothing it make sound scouter stop work properly and you must unequip and equip it back to make it work again and THAT hassle thing to do. not modder fault just build 42 still unstable yeah right :spiffo:

Maybe there are no implementation conflicts. However, since both functions visualize sound, the display will be crowded. My mod is more of a debugging element, so I think you can use them differently.

@XOXANA
Yes, hits mod works fine on Mid-Save. However, since only one Sound Scouter can be acquired by one character, there are some minor issues as follows.

1. Activate the mod, and get the Sound Scouter
2. Turn off the mod and play with that character. At this point, the mod item is automatically deleted.
3. Turn on the mod again and play with the character. The item has deleted, but you cannot get it because you have already acquired it.

Does this have any conflicts with the Sound Visualization mod?
