"As is traditional in developing a game, many of the textures and assets created for Half-Life 2 by Valve went unused and did not ship with the final game. Copies of these missing assets can be found in the files for the 2003 Half-Life 2 ♥♥♥♥. These are still fully functional when copied over to the final game, and they're the same quality as the assets that did ship. As a result, they fit perfectly into custom maps.

This download features the textures found in the 2003 ♥♥♥♥'s files, sorted and ready for general use. No textures from the final game appear in this download; duplicates have been sorted out, and broken VMTs and crossed out beta textures have been patched or removed.
