Estrogen & Testosterone

Beskrivelse
This process for synthesizing estrogen and testosterone, the primary sex hormones of humans, was developed by a bright student many years ago during his studies in the Imperial University. It is said he found existing methods to be particularly wasteful or produce dangerous side effects, and as he himself was beginning his own medical transition, he sought to formulate his own safer and more efficient process.

Though this process was revolutionary, the young alchemist did not pursue any further business opportunities related to it. He simply published his work and went on to take a position as Head Alchemist of former House Van Tassen. Perhaps he desired to rise in the House ranks, or he wanted this process to be freely available for all. In any case, the Reader should be quite familiar with the eventual fall of House Van Tassen. Though the alchemist has passed, his legacy lives on, as his method is now the norm for alchemical hormone synthesis.

Based on the synthesis of estradiol and testosterone from androstenediol. Pay attention to the position of the water atom!

Nice puzzle, chirality switch adds some subtle difficulty to the reassembly.
