AGOT: Immersion

Omschrijving
The purpose of this mod is to make the CK3 AGOT experience more immersive, particularly in aspects concerning warfare. I have made changes to commanders, knights, and wars between vassals inside a realm.

For the full experience you should also download More Interactive Vassals and play with the following settings:

I have re-added my own Call the Banners system and made it less prone to performance issues, but I still recommend MIV.

IS THIS MOD COMPATIBLE WITH REGULAR CK3?

Technically yes! It should work although it may make less sense in vanilla CK3.

Features:
  • Commander/Knight Ages: In ASOIAF, there were lots of people under the age of 16 involved in war. The main plot of the series has Robb Stark commanding troops at 15. Daemon Blackfyre's 12 year old sons were slain next to him, fighting for the true king and their father. This mod enables 12 year olds and up to serve as knights and 14 years old and ups to serve as commanders. This combined with vassals actively joining wars results in many more deaths with many lords' sons joining them on the battlefield. More personal and dynastic vendettas will sprout from this.

  • Commanders: In 99% of scenarios, only family members commanded their house's army. It doesn't matter if Joe Lowborn has 32 martial ability, Tywin would have still tasked his son Jamie or his cousin/brother-in-law Stafford with commanding his houses'host, not some insigificant nobody. This mod makes it so only appropriate family members can command your personal armies. Of course, if you don't have a commander assigned, an allied army's commander will take command in battle. If you want Randyl Tarly to serve as your commander in battle, I hope he answered your call and his troops aren't lagging behind.

  • Illegal Wars - Going to war inside your realm is illegal. There is pretty much never a time in ASOIAF where lords freely wage war on each other. Now, when a vassal declares a war, their liege will be prompted to make a decision. Will they command this unsanctioned war to end? Will they timidly say nothing? Maybe after pressing the aggressor, he might even accept a bribe. Either way, there are no more free and risk free wars in Westeros. If you refuse Ned Stark's command to end your illegal war, he's probably going to cut your head off.

  • Internal Conflict - Similiar but somewhat different than the previous feature, this makes it so the liege will be prompted to intervene in favor of one of his direct vassals when they are losing a rebellion. So for example, the Prince of Dragonstone is being attacked by his vassal the Lord of Driftmark. Now the King will *hopefully* decide to intervene.

    Decision making and the AI weighting of these options are still a WIP. You may experience bugs and localization errors. Feel free to post them in my discord.

would love to see some items as separate mods. Especially the naval warfare part as not other mod has anything like it

@Lance
I think so, with a question mark. Though I have read it has been the cause of some compatibility issues.
Though freeholder would have to fact check me on that.

Agree with the last comment, one of my favorite settings is forcing families to command armies. I loved how easy it was to use your mod and have such a beneficial impact on the gameplay/stories that come from it. Lately I've been using more interactive vassals to have a similar experience, but the one setting that I miss the most is having families command armies. It's such a minor change that feels right and adds a ton of potential to create drama. I would love you forever if you made that part a standalone mod

I would love to have Commander/Knight ages and Commanders being family members a separate mod. Such a simple feature that makes family feuds more common. "Oh no my son died against [Name here]. Time to erasure an entire house"
