gm_norad

gm_norad is a visually impressive stage map that was designed for a Saxxy 14 entry.

Included in the download is a large interior room for a massive office like futuristic environment.
Also in the pack is a set of furniture to populate the environment.

FAQ:
Q: Why do the doors not work? Why is the upper office sealed off?
A: It was designed as essentially a movie set, there was no need to make anything functional. The upper office had an elevator placed as props to fill out the scene.

Q: Why is it so dark?
A: Most of the lighting is designed to be dynamic lighting. Place some lamps. It'll look better anyway.

Q: Where are the desks?
A: All models are in 'all games/lt_c/norad'

Q: Why can't I move the guys in the desks?
A: They don't have physics. Use a bone manipulator tool.

Q: Can you make it do stuff/make it bigger/make a whole facility?
A: No. Don't ask. I will not entertain requests for additional functionality.

Q: This is cool, can I use it in my movie/screenshot/RP/whatever?
A: Yes. This is why I released it in the first place.

Q: Can I hire you to make more of this map for my RP server?
A: No. You can decompile it and have someone else modify it though, I don't care about that. Just credit where credit is due.

Q: Can you upload the architectural models you used for the supports and whatnot? I want to do some scenebuilding.
A: Pick up the direct download version from facepunch[facepunch.com].

Q: Why does the map look like this[dl.dropboxusercontent.com]?
A: This map is HDR only, and you're likely not running gmod in DX9. It's a persistent problem that happens with a small minority of users, nothing that I can fix. It's the game that's broken.
