***WINDOWS ONLY*** The voice volume might be quite low compared to the game but I can't make it any louder than the default

The mod uses Microsoft Speech API (SAPI) Text to Speech services to make wrestlers speak during promos and other conversations. Once the game loads, check the console for the available loaded voices. Main voice can be tested by pressing F5 or by going into mod options. Additional options let you set a separate voice for female characters or change the volume.

Note: for dialog skipping you will need to hold a button, just pressing it might not be enough.

Q: WHAT ABOUT CUSTOM NON-MS VOICES? A: Dunno. Maybe someone else who's more experienced with this stuff can figure it out. For those who actually know what they're doing: the mod checks for voices in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speech\Voices\Tokens. Any chance we could get a port of this mod over to Hard Time 3? It looks like it's built on the same bones and I thus can't imagine a port being impossible. I might work on it myself if I don't hear back from you, but just started Hard Time 3 because my wrestler lost a court case and I'm missing this mod something fierce.

Honestly, I'm not sure myself. Right now, it checks for custom voices in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speech\Voices\Tokens. Some other Microsoft voices are kept in slightly different folders, I remember trying to get them to show up in the game too, but unfortunately they didn't work, they didn't make any sound in the game. If I had to guess it's because I am using a 10 year old DLL file and the other voices are not compatible with whatever outdated thing I am using.

I have several windows voices but they do not show up as options... do you know if there is a file I can edit to expand the list? Or does it just detect the ones it detects no matter what?

any way we could get an option in the wrestler's edit menu for voice? maybe an option for how quick they talk in the mod options menu? overall, pretty cool mod.
