Orbital buildings

Description
A version of Borsk's Orbital Ring buildings mod which he has now abandoned and I have now adopted, this version will serve as the continuation for this mod for the future to come and further content will be added here, while he has updated the main version of this mod to 3.10 and it should continue to keep working for the foreseeable future, but if anything breaks it will be updated and fixed by this fork version here.

The Original Version can be found here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2877122349

I will list his description here:

Feature Overview
This mod extends functionality of orbital rings in a vanilla-friendly way.

It adds the following buildings:
- Microgravity Research Labs: increases researcher output for increased upkeep
- Strategic Orbital Resource Depot: boosts exotic resource production for increased upkeep
- Orbital Coordination System & Organic convenience infrastructure: increases unity job output for regular machines and rogue servitors
- Orbital Surveillance Hub: reduces crime.

It changes the following planetary buildings:
- Research Institute on ringworlds additionally provides the same bonus as Microgravity Research Labs

It also makes maintenance hub (+1 amenities from maintenance drones) available to hive minds

Finally, this mod adds a few orbital ring modules:
- Orbital habitat module: grants flat housing bonus
- Orbital infrastructure depot: grants flat amenities bonus
- Solar panel network: works exactly like the one for regular starbases

Compatibility
This mod doesn't override any vanilla files, but does change some buildings and economic categories. Mod conflicts are unlikely and load order shouldn't matter. Please, feel free to report any issues you encounter.
The mod Space Elevators has in-built compatibility with the buildings from this mod.

All that needs to be changed is the descriptor file and maybe some of the icons. I also tweaked the Microgravity Lab to give the same output/similar upkeep to normal, machine and hive empires, but you can revert that if you don't agree with the change. I also added a line to make the Refinery Hub add food upkeep for catalytic empires.

I'd definitely suggest for you to look over it again just in case I overlooked something or made some sort of error.

Yeah if you want to do that i didn't think this would break as fast as it did lol

The mod is currently mostly broken. Modules and the Surveillance still work perfectly fine, but every other starbase building as well as the Research Institute don't work. The buildings folder can be completely removed since the vanilla Research Institute already does the same job does the same now (unless you want the bonus to be increased on ringworlds). Other than that the main issue are the Microgravity Research Labs and the Strategic Resource Depot, the other buildings would work fine without them.

I tried to fix it myself and it seems to be working just fine, so if you want I would be happy to send you the changed files so you can update the mod.

eh I'll just remove it for simplicity

This mod has a file in common/ship_sizes/00_orbital_rings, and that file is not up to date when compared to vanilla. If no overwrite is intended, you should probably remove the file from this mod. Otherwise it will override the vanilla version.

This mod doesn't add the orbital rings either only buildings and modules for them if the rings don't have triggers for bio ship empires thats on paradox
Aurelias  [author] 29 Aug @ 12:12am
im going to be honest i forgot Wilderness empires are even a thing lmfao
kahvipensas 28 Aug @ 12:06am
At least Institute and Supercomputer are missing triggers related to Wilderness empires. Some economic categories have outdated code, for example biotrophies, chemists and refiners hacing incorrect parent. Orbital rings have no triggers for bioship empires.

This mod is currently not up to date at all.
