This mod is a modified version of "Homemade Sentry Turret" ( https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1742953520 ) by Rectus. I modified it so that it now replaces baseball bat. So, in other words, as long as a campaign has baseball bat, no matter if it's an official campaign or custom campaign, it will spawn.

Some changes:
  • Replaces Baseball Bat Baseball bat is replaced by this one (but actually it's still a baseball bat).
  • Laser Shot: Now it shoots laser that burns zombies.
  • Infinite Ammo: It has infinite laser ammo.
  • 360 degrees of horizontal & vertical rotations: As it has a floating turret, now it can shoot zombies from any directions
  • Deployable on any kinds of ground: Now it doesn't require flat grounds to deploy.
  • Longer range to deploy: Now you can deploy it slightly farther.
  • Impact Resistance: It won't be thrown away easily when there's explosion or impact nearby.
  • A cfg file to configure zombie aggro range on the sentry turret.


As this mod is now a standalone mod, it no longer requires "Custom Weapon Base" to make it work properly. So, just enable this mod, & sentry turret will be ready to use. To spawn it, just type "give baseball_bat" on console, & this one will spawn instead.

@Doomgamer9000 , as long as there's no "baseball_bat.txt" in the vpk file, it won't conflict, but this mod will override the other baseball skin mods.
As for "Lightning Spark", yes, but you need to register it as "sentry", not baseball bat model because the visible model is sentry.

Also is this compatible with your melee lighting sparks mod?.

@Nine Thou ♰ , I'm not sure if it's possible. It's possible to create a version with different melee, but I haven't tried it on any items other than melee

@Chief , could you check the console for errors in red texts? If a mod is bugged, usually red texts will show up on console. So far I haven't encountered bugged turret, except in custom campaigns with heavy scripts or file size.

something odd happen place on the ground but couldn't pick it up afterwards

re-install this mod it hopefully fix it

note don't have infanite ammo on, to many drops game crash fair warning

the base ball bat loads not that much but the crowbar loads lots more to pickup

@Sultan Abu Al Pepsi , unfortunately, unlike the gnome turret that uses L4D2 models (so other players can see it without problem), this one uses custom models. So, other players need to have this mod enabled so they won't see the error model.

is there any way to make random players to not see the "ERROR" model ? like maybe force them to automatically download the mod or something?
