Planet Pyke

Kuvaus
Background

Pyke was discovered in 492 NE by the Orlen Astronomers' Association during a transit photometry survey of nearby exoplanets. Located 6.8 lightyears from Angelus, Pyke is a volcanic super-earth with an ashy atmosphere. Despite orbiting close to its sun, the planet receives only two thirds as much light as Earth, because of the volcanic winter. As a result, the planet is more habitable than expected - though, it's still very hostile to life. The atmospheric composition is high in carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sulfur dioxide.

Surviving on Pyke is challenging, as the only sources of ice are the comets that the planet's large gravity well can capture. Pyke has been inhabited by people from a variety of backgrounds, from adventurous frontiersmen, to daredevils, to space pirates. There are no officially-sanctioned cities on this lawless planet.

• Temperature: 70c to 165c (hot to inhospitable)
• Atmosphere density: 150%
• Average wind speed: 75% of Earthlike
• Lifeforms: None
• Ore below ground: Iron, Nickel, Cobalt, Silicon, Magnesium, Silver, abundant Gold and Uranium
• Recommended planet size: 120km

• All-new custom height maps
• Includes 6 custom voxels - Pyke Magma, Magma Rock, Rock, Gravel, Soil, and Sand
• Custom weather: Ashfall, Poisonous Smoke, Lava Rain, and Lava Storms. The lightning on this planet does not deal damage.

Other

thank you very much.

Unlisted *should* work. Hidden would be the setting that might interfere. And yeah, go ahead.

Will new members of our community who want to play on the server still be able to download the planet if it is not listed? Can i use your Planet Silona and Aulden too?
Elindis  [tekijä] 30.7. klo 0.56
Hi Neo. Sure! But if you reupload it, it'd be great if you kept it unlisted.

Hi Elindis, I have a question. I'm currently creating a new SE scenario, which I'd like to make available to our community on a dedicated server once it's finished. I'd like to include your Pyke planet in this scenario, because they turned out pretty cool. I hereby request permission to use your planet and, if necessary, to modify it and to upload it to the workshop.

Hey bob. Of course! Good luck with the server.

Hey @Elindis is it alright if i used this planet on a public server?

Oh thanks, but I already created my gameplay map for now. x3 I'd prefer you get all the praise though of making a hell world. So if by the next time I decide to start things up you've made a new version, I'll use that.

I was thinking it'd be a truly hellish world if it were more like Venus in its settings. You could knock its O2 down to 0.05 or even just make it zero and rely on ice to survive.

Dense heavy winds would make atmo thrusters work great and wind turbines too, solar power would be extremely low due to the density of the atmosphere.

Even nicer if there was occasional damage to equipment that contains computers that is exposed directly outside but that might be a more difficult thing to set up. Heat damage to equipment basically. I know there's a way to check if something is outdoors I'm just not sure how. :P

Hi Vas. You can use the planet's assets if you want to :)
Vas 16.2. klo 22.08
I attempted to make a mod that mods this planet's values without me using your assets but apparently its impossible. I used just your SBC file and the planet became a single texture perfect sphere ball with no mountains of any kind...

I tried to set oxygen to 0.05, wind to 240 (4x), and was considering making the atmosphere 3x denser like Venus of sorts and was gonna increase gravity. But meh. Failed.
