Lancet Windows

Popis
Here are a selection of lancet windows; these were popular in the early gothic period during the 12th/13th centuries. The colour image is some of Hexham Abbey's lancet windows.

There is a small single lancet, a tall (and extra tall) lancet and a tall (and extra tall) triple lancet. These were relatively easy to make so if anyone has a specific request for a different style lancet window, feel free to ask me to make it - if it's simple enough, I'll probably add it.

Thanks to RKtheGreat, I now see that matching the windows to vaulted or barrel ceiling blocks is a problem. So I have included extra variants with slightly shorter windows to fix this problem whilst at the same time not messing up existing builds which used the first versions I uploaded. The latest additions are marked with a 'V' in their names.

Update 16/05/23 - fixed some texture and compound issues.

actually I removed it because with the lower points on the 'V' windows, you can make a 2x2 or even 2x3 lancet window. Hope this works for you; drop me a DM if not.

I don't have any experience of using defenders so I'm not sure how that side of things works. However, I know that someone is already working on those ideas you mentioned. (From what I've read, boiling oil wasn't very common, it being quite hard to come by in such large quantities. Boiling water was much cheaper and easier to make.)

Would it be possible to do a spin-off of this mod? I would love to have Arrow Slits of various types and block layouts. I would want something that AI Defenders could/will actually use.

I would also love to see a mod of battlemented walls with boiling oil vats (with NPC "dumpers"), and some with "gutters" for the oil to flow through to openings in the battlements. Think gargoyles with boiling oil spewing out their mouths!

I know I ask a lot, but I'm worth it. :steamhappy:

@ RKtheGreat: I don't use the generated edges and I tend to use other walls that don't have them either (like brick walls) and then I paint them, so I haven't had that problem. But I will ask around to see what the proper fix should be.I can easily make a 2x2 variant with a higher window sill. I should be able to get it done in the next couple of days. :)

Really great windows! I run into a small issue with them though that placed alongside vanilla blocks or other modded blocks that they generate those edgestones where they shouldn't.
Also would it be hard or possible to add the small lancet window in the middle of a 2x2 block? That way you can have it a bit from the floor but also have room above for a vaulted ceiling.

@ Hardened_Mass: yes, it's on the drawing board. I've been acquiring images of medieval stained glass for a considerable time now and I will make a mod for them in the foreseeable future.
