Left 4 Dead 1 HUD Plus

A version of Urik's L4D1 HUD with a few improvements and changes, while remaining somewhat faithful to L4D1's artstyle.

Features:

Replaces mostly everything UI related, including but not limited to, local player, teammate, weapon, survival, gas can, progress bar panels and Versus UI.

NOTE:
  • This HUD is not guaranteed to work properly with a Steam Deck. L4D2 has specific parameters that are applied to certain UI elements when it detects that it's being played on a Steam Deck, since I do not own a Steam Deck, I am unable to check whether it looks okay or not.

One thing I do like about L4D1's HUD is the color, the green on Gen2 looks too bright and cheap.

That's alright I don't want to swap out the L4D1 healthbars, just all of the bg materials. Thanks, I'll have a look around again

and the l4d1 style healthbars are seemingly hardcoded. if you want to use your own textures, go to the .res files you wanna change, go to the "Health" control and paste the following block inside, between the brackets:

"healthbar_image_medium" "vgui/hud/avhud3/health_bar_medium"

is healthbar_bg_1,2,3,4 in materials/vgui/hud not what you're looking for? if not then i have no idea what you could be referring to. it should be all there if you dig around.

as for the weapon panel, it's composed of scalablepanel_bgmidgrey and scalablepanel_bgmidgrey_glow, also in materials/vgui/hud.

I would like to do a texture edit of this mod's UI elements, but it doesn't seem like they're all present in the vpk (the grunge hud backgrounds, the weapon panel, the health bars.etc.etc), could you help or explain why that is?

why the incap icons makes the survivors red? in the original they we're just black and white

I wanted to edit all of the UI textures for personal use, the background for the survivors, the item boxes, even the versus stuff, but half of them don't even seem to be present in the VPK (the versus panels and the healthbars most importantly). Why is that?
