Description
The High Capacity Metro Train (HCMT) is the newest addition to the Melbourne Suburban fleet located in Australia, being introduced in 2020. It currently runs on the Pakenham & Cranbourne lines in preparation for through running to Sunbury via the Metro Tunnel, which is due to open in 2025. The train operates as a 7-car unit in a Tp-Mp-Mp-DT-Mp-Mp-Tp consist, but can also be extended to a 10-car unit in a Tp-Mp-Mp-DT-Mp-Mp-DT-Mp-Mp-Tp consist.

  • Max Speed: 130km/h (design)
  • Max Pax: 1800 (7 car), 2640 (10 car) (crush)

The max speed, acceleration and braking numbers are all incorrect, and make the train harder to use at high frequencies. If you're still into developing this mod, you can find the design specifications online. According to HCMT Project Documents - Schedule 27 (Technical Specifications) [www.tenders.vic.gov.au]: items 8.1a Performance, 8.3a Traction, and 8.4.a.iii state a max service speed of 130km/h, acceleration of 1.1m/s/s, and deceleration of 1.3m/s/s.
It does list longitudinal jerk limits of 0.8m/s/s/s, however those numbers are irrelevant, and not modelled in game.
If you're not interested in making an update, I'll be making my own and publishing it as an update to my 10 Car HCMT mod.

In Victoria this train is limited to 115 kmh due to local railway regulations. However this should not be the case for this asset, as other trains on the workshop have their speed set at their design speed, rather than their service speed, which should be the responsibility of the user.

Hey! So according to sources ive found online, this train can go to 130km/h, but your description says 115km/h. Am i in error?

Would it be possible to convert this into a Loco and Carriage asset for use with custom train configurations in game? Alternatively how about adding a 10 car config?
