Guadalcanal [Map]

Thanks Bcarreon93, glad you have been making good use of the map. It was a massive map when I started designing it in the beginning and I wished for it to be covered on every corner with some sort of campaign, glad you have successfully done that! Thank you for your work :) I will most likely look at updating the map once Marco changes the modding system as I'll probably need to re-upload the map again. I'm thinking of adding new foliage types as well as some updated areas. The only limitation is that I might not be able to add extra land areas to the left / right of the map as I used the biggest map size at the time. But will take a look when the time comes for sure.

Hey Sturmervdw, again this is a fantastic map. I went and made a complete Guadalcanal campaign depicting many of the battles on the island from August 1942 to January 1943. If you do end up adding to the map, let me know as I have a lot of photographic resources of the campaign and I'd love to see some additions for the later January and February offensives of the 23rd Americal, 25th Infantry Division and 2nd Marine Division.

Thanks for the heads up Menendez! Yes I would be willing to re upload the map wherever needed when the time comes. If I have enough time on my hands, I may even look at updating the map :)

Good day @Sturmervdw. I would like to break the news that Marco is considering of revamping the modding system to fit with a newer engine while also allow mods in the Nintendo Switch version. This means that Steam Workshop may no longer be the place where mods would be uploaded. Fortunately you can simply just reupload your mod to the new database so that it will also run there. Also Marco would upload a legacy version in which Workshop mods can still be played. A lot of modders and players relied on your Guadalcanal map for their own missions which are among the best in the Easy Red 2 modding community so I really hope you would reupload said map for these missions to continue in the new engine

BTW the mod revamp might occur in Spring next year after the Tunisia and China campaigns have been fully implemented, just to give a head's start.

Glad you have been enjoying the map! Unfortunately, I have no plans to update this map anytime soon as I am putting all my spare time into another game project, but I will definitely consider updating it in the future! :)

Hey its me again! I just want to say I've been making a lot of missions with this map and am continuing to do so. As for additions to the map, could the areas west of Point Cruz to Kokumbona and the ridge lines along the Matanikau as well as locations to the east of Red Beach like Koli Point, Tasimboko and then the mountains further around Mt Austen and The Giffu be added? I plan to keep going with Guadalcanal missions as long as I can use the correct ground on the map for various scenario's. One big one I really want to cover is the Point Cruz Line for the November and January offensives.
