Basically, what you need to do is to add the models directly in the .asset files as it was before BBA, but with the new equipment names.
So if you had the "USA_fighter_equipment_1_entity" model defined before BBA, you now have to write the "USA_small_airframe_1_entity" in the .asset files.
Maybe I can explain it better if you send me a friend request and i explain it to you over dms
I tried other solutions-weighting, removing models until the correct one was the only one left..no dice.
At least the icon part of the mod is working fine. So maybe it was worth it in the end?

If you manually select the model in the designer, it functions correctly.
I was making a mod to do the same thing as your mods and it's an issue I ran into. I just tested yours, and it has the same problem. Nothing you did, just paradox being paradox. I don't know if there's a solution or not.
