AGL - Alternative German Leagues
First of all: Don't take this mod too seriously, this is a fun project! There might also be small mistakes, since this is my first mod.

The most important changes brought by the mod:
  • Restructuring of German league football:
All old leagues have been removed and replaced by 6 new leagues, each with 20 teams. The 1st - 6th Bundesliga.
  • The German championship will now be played out via a top 4 playoff. In the semifinals there are 2 games, one at home and one away. In the final there is then a game on a neutral pitch.
  • All relegation places are now direct relegation places.
  • Place 1 and 2 increase in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6. Bundesliga directly. Places 3 to 6 play promotion games, which work the same way as the championship system.
  • There is now one more round in the DFB Cup so that all teams from the first 6 leagues are represented. Instead of 64, 128 teams are now taking part in the DFB Cup. The remaining 8 spots of the new round will be raffled off to 8 random teams from the 1800 strong pool of teams not playing in the first 6 leagues.
  • Second teams now have their own league, the U23 Bundesliga. This is divided into the areas North, Northeast, South and West/Southwest.
  • The respective champions of the U23 national leagues play the final champion in 2 semi-finals (first leg and second leg) and a final (on a neutral pitch).
  • There is no longer a DFL Supercup.
  • RB Leipzig was dissolved. Players and coaches are available free of charge. 1.FC Union Berlin takes the place of RB Leipzig in the Champions League. 1.FC Cologne took the Europa League place from 1.FC Union Berlin and FSV Mainz 05 took the Conference League place from 1.FC Cologne.
  • Over the years, the league has changed a lot. Clubs are capable of building something up. From the pool of 1800 clubs, some teams will be promoted and get involved.

Original thought of the mod: In the first 3 leagues there should be one representative from each federal state. To be more precise, the historically most successful. Sorted descending. In order to reach 20 teams, 4 subsequent clubs were added per league, each with its own chosen score, which determines the historical size of the club. In the 1st Bundesliga, for example, this would be FC Schalke 04, 1.FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Borussia Dortmund, for example, holds the NRW representative place, as historically the most successful club from North Rhine-Westphalia. From the 4th Bundesliga, only the history score counts. The state rule expires from here. RB Leipzig and BFC Dynamo are excluded from this score.

  • You can find the league classification of the 1st - 6th Bundesliga and the U23 leagues in the picture gallery on the mod page.
  • Also in the picture gallery you will find the promoted champions, DFB Cup, Champions League, Europa League and Conference League winners from a 40-year test save.

Last but not least: You can insert the logos of the leagues yourself here[mega.nz]

For all other things like club crests, player pictures etc. you have to download one of the well-known packs.

    And now have fun!
