Scottish League Restructure

Description
I did a similar restructuring of the Scottish league system last FM, but I have made some more changes to this one as well as expanding the league down to the sixth tier. The last database I did only had 16 teams in SPL and the 16th team was usually the whipping boy who got relegated immediately so I wanted to make it a bit more competitive so increased it to 18 and increased the lower leagues too. Prize money has been slightly improved (have compared a number of different teams vs. vanilla database) which take the form of television money as well as league position as well as a small bonus for a win or draw. I wanted to make the Scottish clubs a bit more competitive in terms of finances but not to be unrealistic given the small population size of Scotland and the low worldwide appeal of Scottish football (outside of Rangers and Celtic).


The Scottish League structure is as follows:



SPL (18 teams)

Championship (20 teams)

League One (20 teams)

League Two (24 teams)

Highland League (20) Lowland League (20)

Midlands (18) Caledonian (14) North (18) South (20) East (24) West (24)


There are also 16 B teams, which are split up among the sixth tier of the league based on their geographical position. They are from the Scottish clubs with the best youth facilities, reputation and importance. These B teams will not be allowed to be promoted to the SPL.

I've played up till mid-September as well as simmed 30 years in the future and haven't experienced any problems so far but please let me know below if you find any.

Decent database. Let down by having Celtic as the only Premiership team entering the Scottish Cup.

@C`nr Yeah that was a tricky one. I got rid of all U19s and U21s as it was easier to do that and create those youth teams again. The other issue was Rangers and Celtic B teams were created in the vanilla database as separate entities but i wanted them to act as extensions of the main club like the U21s. If I do another Scottish database next FM, I have a look at keeping all the youth staff in place but it could be more time consuming as I would have to go through all teams and check who and who doesn't have a U19s and U21s

Hi, great database. Only issue I have encountered is the youth team players of the teams you've added u21s + u19s to are all gone along with their staff. The staff for Celtic + Rangers B teams are also gone. I'm not sure what causes it but I think the players can be fixed by moving them to the teams main squads in the editor.
