The pillars are an asset you need to place, seems like they don't properly function though. Unfortunate!

how do i get the pillars/ supports to work? Choose the bridge but no pillars

Just a small bug I experienced - after placing the PRR railroad logo edge pieces along a bridge, there was no way to bulldoze them, the there didn't seem to be anywhere the mouse would select it.
