Education Automation

설명
Education Automation is a mod that adds configurable automation for the education of children in your court. It also includes some education bug fixes and quality of life changes.

Automated Guardian Assignment
Children in your court are broken down into 4 categories:
  • Ruler and Close Family. Meaning yourself if you are a child and likely heirs like siblings, children and grandchildren.
  • Extended Family. Family other than close family like uncles/aunts, nephews/nieces, and cousins.
  • Dynasty. Any member of your dynasty who does not fit the 2 above categories.
  • Unrelated. Anyone who doesn't fit into the other categories.
Depending on your settings one of the following things happen when a child turns 6 in your court and does not already have a guardian:
  • Ask Ruler. Fires an event for the ruler that lets you pick between best scored valid potential guardians in your court, an immediate vassal or your ruler.
  • Automatic. Child is automatically assigned a guardian from your court, if possible. Child is assigned best educator for their focus excluding the ruler. Ruler's spouse can only be chosen if the ward is their child.
  • Do Nothing. Ignore this character and don't assign a guardian.

If a child's guardian dies before they turn 16, they will either be assigned another one or you will get an event to choose their next guardian depending on their relation to the ruler and your settings.

If you would like to have automation enabled but have some in-game requirement for it, there is a gamerule for a court tutor being required for automation.

Special Priority Settings
Special Settings allow for a selection weight bonus to be given to guardians that fit certain conditions, making it more likely that they are chosen.
Currently the bonus can only be applied to witches.
When a child handled by this mod fits the selected relationship category for this setting, one of three levels of bonus can be applied to relevant guardians.
  • Off. No bonus
  • Low. Selection bonus equivalent to having the Shrewd trait.
  • High. Selection bonus equivalent to having the Intelligent trait or the storytellers tradition.

Automated University Reminders
When enabled, an event fires when a child in your court turns 12 and has access to a university. University access is determined by having a university in your realm or in the guardian's realm.

University reminders are filtered according to:
  • The same 4 relationship categories as guardian assignment.
  • Optional gender requirement. Defaults to no requirement but may be useful in gender dominated realms.

To send a child to university in the reminder event, Tuition must be paid. If you don't have enough money at the time, you can't pick that option.
If you have university access and would like to pay for a child's tuition without removing and re-adding a guardian, you can use the new "Send to University" interaction to pay anytime before the child turns 16.
"Send to University" can also be used for any child in diplomatic range, useful for the children of landed family members.

Quality of Life Tweak(s)
Effects that assign children guardians now have a tooltip with a general skill level of the guardian for the child's education focus. This applies not just to the events in this mod but also vanilla interactions. Guardian aptitude relies on knowing the child's focus, assigning a guardian before a child has a focus will show the guardian as having lower skill than they may actually have.

  • More Options, choices for guardian.
  • Better localization for child rulers, currently events are written assuming the player is an adult.
  • Options for religious/cultural conversion for courtiers.
  • Add option to automatically send child to university

Good try, but it lags the shit out of games after the dynasty grows a bit, and I have yet to get it to even work

I think to make this compatible for agot, you just need to add a "is_human" check for the recipient of the interaction. I checked agots own version of the file, and that is basically all I could see that would be used to exclude dragons from the interaction (and future non human races). That'd more or less future proof it for got I think, and wouldn't make any difference to the base game.

There's a small oversight I noticed where this mod doesn't recognize the Byzantine Pandidakterion as a university, even though the base game intends for it to function as one. I was able to fix it by going into edu_fix_triggers.txt, and replacing the has_university_access_trigger with this:
