This surprising villa nestles in the shade of the tall pines of the Allée Georges, in the Parc district. Designed according to the model of the bungalow, this extraordinary villa, so light, owes its nickname to its plan and its shape. Wedged between two thin concrete slabs and raised by a series of pilings, the building is divided into two distinct bodies. One, largely open to the garden, concentrates the main living rooms, while the second, hermetic, brings together more particularly the bedrooms. The garage remains the only element in contact with the ground. A funny ladder allows you to descend directly from the building to the swimming pool. The few steps at the entrance, embodied by a concrete cap, lead to a large service passageway. A perforated railing, like that of the Municipal Casino, invites the visitor to enter and accompanies him into the lobby. Two other accesses, at the back, make it possible to divide the subtle division of this villa into three lots. Pierre Marmouget provides an exceptional lesson in architecture here. It offers us a veritable manifesto of Brazilian architecture. This virtuosity suggests that he played a decisive role in introducing Brazilian references to the heart of the major Royan projects in which he participated: the Casino, the Palais des Congrès, Place Gantier...
