Also located in the avenue des Tilleuls, this rather classic-looking project has undoubtedly benefited from the avant-garde of its neighborhood. Indeed, from 1953 to 1958, the main names of the “School of Royan” simultaneously took part in the construction of this district. Taking advantage of the difference in level of the street, compared to the garden, this townhouse spreads its plan over three floors, of which only two are visible on the facade. The whole implementation of this building reveals the ambient change of architectural references. The double-sided roof, originally planned, has been replaced by an almost imperceptible single-sided roof, since it is concealed behind a concrete cornice. Similarly, the identification of the stairwell by a succession of portholes clearly evokes the maritime and naval context of the seaside town. At the rear, the façade, borrowed from modern dogma, has been set back and offers the bedrooms two large balconies. The Baraton, Bauhain and Hébrard trio, which is one of the big names in the Reconstruction of Royan, nevertheless signs a much more moderate project than those of neighboring Quentin and Marmouget.
