Protected from amateur gazes by the meanders of the rue des Sirènes, this little masterpiece of seaside architecture has taken advantage of the narrow plot allotted to it. Camped on a dozen stilts, this singular nest blends its structure with the thick foliage of the surrounding trees. The ground, thus freed, accommodates covered benches and shelves useful to the occupants. Only a garage constitutes the ground floor, relegating all the living spaces upstairs. A straight staircase provides access to a small terrace and the entrance. Protected by the overhang of the roof slab, this pleasant platform, similar to the bridge of a ship, welcomes the visitor. A concrete comma, accented in blue, frames the doorway while a plethora of oculi lines the back wall. The house is organized in the shape of an "L" around this core. Georges Vergnaud who, after his participation in the construction site on boulevard Briand and the construction of the double villa "Brise-Lames" on boulevard Garnier, performs a real tour de force here, by denying his most academic achievements, to offer Foncillon a true concentration of modern architecture.
