Tenants are guests that live with you and pay rent to do so. You must take care of them for the duration of their stay. If you prove to be a good host, they may ask to prolong the contract and even offer becoming full-fledged members of your colony. Mistreating them is discouraged and not without consequenses. Draw out the inner landlord in you.



A notice board where you can alter any requirements for tenancy at your colony. Being choosy means a lower daily rent. Couriers are responsible for delivering the rent to your notice board and wont show up without one! You can alter some behaviors in the mod settings as well.

A mysterious Courier Association with their own late medieval tech that borders industrial. Including musket rifles and many other weapons and things. You too can get your hands on their tech should you please them somehow...



Q: How do I get tenants?
A: Tenants utilize the quest system integrated in vanilla Rimworld. They should pop up every now and then regardless of the state of wealth of your colony. You can force the event by putting up an advertisement on the notice board. A courier will fetch that advert after a while.


Q: How do I get Couriers?
A: Build a notice board and one only, any more will be destroyed! >:D The notice board will assure a courier event will pop at relatively regular intervals. The courier delivers rent and fetches any adverts posted.


Q: I was denied a Courier, WHY?
A: A courier died for some reason while on your map. Either they got killed by raiders, a wild animal or perhaps you killed them? Regardless, this just means the next delivery gets delayed. The Courier Association however, is a forgetful bunch and will send a new courier after that one time denial. It's as easy as that.
You can toggle death penalties on/off in mod settings though if you enjoy being a baddie.


Q: Why did you add weapons and whatnot in the mod?
A: At first, I wanted just a cool outfit for the couriers to wear. However, the kind korean artists I hired at the time was inspired and acted on it. They created a lot of weapons as well and gifted them to me for use with this mod. I was touched by their kindness and thought it would be a nice touch to further add more flair to the couriers. However, some people do hate them. Others love them and some seemingly don't care.
I do understand that this might not be what you want for this mod though. Thus I have been considering ways to solve this for you as well. Sometime in the future, I will add an option to opt out of these items. If you cannot wait that long, check out the mod Cherry Picker and remove them yourself.

  • Hospitality?
    Yes, hospitality utilize visitors. Tenants utilize the guest/hospitality system in vanilla Rimworld meaning, they are part of your colony as guests from another faction. Tenants are not visitors but part of your colony. Think of them as colonists that pay to live at your place.
  • Dubs Hygiene?
    Yes, why wouldn't it be?
  • Prepare Carefully?
    Prepare Carefully does weird stuff, it messes with pawns in a way that mods should not. Look into Character Editor or Pawn Editor instead.

use the mod more than capable and assign work to the tenants you dont like. they'll get fed up and leave

Great mod! May I suggest a kick out tenants option? I think it could be really useful, no refunds of course.

Mod is missing the courier equipment items and throws errors on launch. Re-adding these items from the 1.5 version seems to fix the issues. I don't say this as a fix, I say this as a heads-up to the dev who presumably knows how to fix this issue better than me, a rando on steam.
