Softer Corruption Graphics

Omschrijving
The corruption visuals in the campaign map are very cool, but when it reachs high values it will drastically stop at borders creating jarring edges and no blending between the corrupted region and the clean area on the other side.

This mod simply tones down a little the corruption visuals so that it will rarely reach the borders and feel smoother.

Props like Nurgle bubbles or Tzeench crystals or trees will still cover the whole province like vanilla

Update: CA promised a fix for the border issues, when they will fix it I will update the mod description.

TUTORIAL: If you wanna edit the intensity of the corruption, where intensity means how much it spreads, you need to

Open the mod with RPFM

go into materials\environment\campaign

go into materials/environment/campaign/campaign_combi_corruption.xml.material

edit the line called "blend_linearity"

put a value between 0.1 and 1.0, where the first is 10% and the latter is 100%.

Vanilla default is 0.8 (80%)

Has this been updated for 6.3?

Please update. It's broken.

I think this broke with 6.1.x, corruption borders are blocky again.

Hi
does this need a update after 6.1.2?
DeezRobotNuts 22 mrt om 6:58
@Morgul
Currently on patches 6.0.x it's definitely not fixed, in my Kholek campaign I could easily tell as soon as I got into Grand Cathay and got some provinces to 100 corruption.

Is there a mod to remove it at all?
Nature's Labubu 16 okt 2024 om 13:06
@Morgul the 4.2 update? Not really, even in that they admit it's a minor tweak. All they did was make it slightly less jagged.

It's strange because the lower levels of corruption spread smoothly like wh2 corruption, which is how this mod works - it just reduces spread so it never reaches most of the borders. I do not understand why it's coded not to just continue that effect on the border.

As far as I know this mod is now deprecated, as CA fixed all the issues about block corruption textures, or am I missing something ?

sorry for the double post. playing as the chaos dwarfs, i see all the land becomes black...so I am not sure if the mod is completely working? I don't see the spikes and lava on the ground, but I do recall it being more like general red and some black spots here and there. thanks
