HIGH ELF RACE 1.5 - by KarmaDrak



If you are like me and really think that vanilla elves ressemble dark elves a tad too much maybe it's time to correct this feeling by adding proper high elves based on vanilla and with extras to spice it up.

This mod does not replace the elves, it adds a whole new race for compatibility

  • visually it is mostly a re-skin of the vanilla elves with colouring according to most fantasy worlds
  • adds new possible surprise parts/cosmetics to high elves
  • adjusted opinions and racial abilities and peculiarities for variety in playstyle
  • changes vanilla elves to be called dark elves where possible

  • No incompatibilities known
  • CAN be added mid-game
  • CANNOT be removed mid-game
  • No known issues


All constructive criticism and suggestions will be welcomed, looked upon and pondered. Be polite and we can both get the mod better, balanced and tailored.
Do avoid those requests like «can we have this and this in a separate mod» or stuff like that, remember this is voluntary work and dedication to the community and my mods will obviously follow my vision of logic.

the fault was at the user side ;)
high elfs was the only mod i forgot to click on load, all fine now.

High elves should appear in the starting groups with no problem, I have no issue on my side. (I haven't tested it since the last game update, but will try it today).

there are no high elfs at the starting group or is just my game bugged ?
btw thank you for this mod and all the other mods, thats exactly what i wanted
and made the game much more fun.

@Drierm: I completely agree but there is no way to control the randomness of evil/neutral/good as it is hardcoded. As for the racial abilities I'll give it a thought and a test and see how balanced it is... remember that THIS mod will not change anything on Dark Elves, if at all that happens it will be added to my Racials Mod because that is the one that changes vanilla code.

I'm gonna play around with this mod and your Racials 2.0 for a bit, but I'll let you know what I think of it all and give you a better bit of suggestions after I get a feel for it. Been playing around with your mods so far and loving them. Undoubtedly I'll give you feedback about plenty others.

Also, any chance for Dwarves in the future? It'd really fill out what people could do thematically with their kingdoms!

Something to note, playing pure evil with Elves is that its an utter pain to get your hands on Evil Elves. On top of that its even more painful to find one with decent guarding potential and for the likely-hood of finding Evil Dark Elves in beginning sequence and in kingdom to be far easier. On the Inverse, It'd be great if it were easier to find Good/ Neutral High Elves. If its possible, I would definitely suggest that the Dark Elves receive better guarding passives, since Dark Elves are known for Enslaving Races in Everything from Neverwinter to Warhammer to The Elder Scrolls. If you could add Wood Elves too, then I think you've basically got the most Important Trio. Wood Elves I'd say would be great as having primarily neutral Alignments since they usually don't give a crap about anything other than the forest, etc.
