These are my config edits, to give the Amalgamation Classes significant functionality via the Dedicated Pistol Slot.

This pack allows soldiers not only to equip a pistol on the Dedicated Pistol Slot . No also all current XCOM Trinkets are available for the Dedicated Pistol Slot

If you are using the amazing Proficiency Pack Pistol Slot Plugin v1.97 by the great MrCloista you will also find a travellight item on some soldiers.

Psiamps
Sorry no psiamps in DPS Slot, as i think that is way too powerful, you surely can add that if you really want.

Problems
Probably many ... one i know of, this is a lazy approach to do it for all Amalgamation Classes, i just look at the first Perk of each primary Specialization and use that to open the DPS possibilities. Of course if another class has that Perk it will do the same. It is a minor inconvienience and i only need to do it for something like 15 possibilities instead of 1700.

Future Plans
you may have realized i wrote "all current Trinkets". That does imply more Trinkets may come ... i have some ideas, implementation will probably be very different, with corpses being molded in Proving Grounds into a Trinket ... and probably that trinket can be transplanted in the Gene Mods Lab to soldiers.

I'm confused so is there no way to have a dps slot w/ amalgamation that allows me to use a pistol normally?

Amalgamation limits what slot a weapon has to be to use it or its perks

not having any of the other issues, but for some reason I can't shoot with the pistols, only overwatch. any ideas about what's causing this?

yes that is standard behavior .... you might be able to make it work with configs. Would need a combination of Amalgamation and Ability to Slot Reassignment configs

i personally didn't like it when it was possible because it takes away a lot of Amalgamation and makes the soldiers even stronger, so i don't have those configs anymore.

This mod adds the Architect's forge (spiregun) from your Amalgam Architect to the pistol slot, but the abilities related to it can only function in the secondary slot; in the pistol slot, it does nothing and its abilities do not appear in the tactical layer.

This is odd, because those abilities appear in the strategy layer, and in the secondary slot they're still usable and appear in the tactical layer. Is there a typo or missing line somewhere in this, or would it be in your Architect Amalgam?

(Noticed with the conventional forge, didn't check mag/beam)

well got reports of people where it works now ... so two possibilities:
a) steam hasn't updated the mod for you yet
b) another mod is doing funky things

Same issues even with the update unfortunately. :( I'm having the same issue as Stickiler where my sidearm slots are blank btw (think the primary weapons issue is related to another mod where i can have secondaries as primary weapons or something)

my mod never allowed Fultons as much as i can see. Do you have another mod fiddling with the DPS slot? i recreated most things now. the message will still be there. but it shouldn't break anything. If it doesn't help you i will just delete this mod so please just inform me
