LNER Gresley P1 2-8-2

Description
LNER Gresley P1 2-8-2

Turn out if you take an A1 boiler, strap it onto some big cylinders and 8 driving wheels, it makes for a pretty OP freight engine. This sucker was too powerful for the LNER's demands (The 100 coal wagon-long trains this was intended to haul didn't really fit into the network all that well) and it burned way too much coal in the process. Luckily none of these things are a consideration in TpF2, so I enabled it to survive right up until the end of steam and added some BR liveries as well. :)

I've also included variants with the big GNR 8-wheel tender from the A1 because....I dunno, it looks cool.

Features

-LNER P1 in 6 liveries
-Liveries include LNER Black, LNER Green, LNER wartime black, BR Green, BR Blue and BR Black.
-Tender variants include two tender variants - LNER 6-wheel tender and GNR style 8-wheel tender.
-Full aging and recolour support. Detailed dirt and rust accumulates as the engine ages.
-Engines are sorted in depot menus to reduce purchase menu clutter.
-Reverse variants of all included engines.
-Small file size and .dds compressed textures, to help with load speed.
-Lods to reduce GPU load.
-Placeable rail assets (also with lods) allowing placement of the full engine, or just the tender or locomotive if you wish.
-Moddable engine numbers - edit the number of the train and the number will display on the side of the locomotive.

UPDATE: Added a few new fictional variants care of the parts bin from other models - you can now use the LNER corridor tenders from the A3 or A4. I've also added later variants with double chimneys and smoke deflectors, like the later A3 variants.

Marvelous work as usual, one question, has any thought been given to Duke of Gloucester ?

Spectacular. This is a real game changer for my map's late 20's savegame. I'm now waving goodbye to the old double-headed goods trains I once had... there's only so many U1 Garratts you can utilise before they appear to be ubiquitous, hehe.

Also, and I don't know if you left it out intentionally, but with the exact same model you could also add a variant that has its Booster engine applied, for a meaty 201KN tractive effort (Because what is balance in this game)

With a top speed that high this thing would probably get the 9F treatment of being a "heavy goods" but also a rather decent passenger engine.
Gee, it's like Gresley himself had the same idea...

aside from the great mod, have you thought about maybe remaking some of your oldest mods?
for example, your model of lbscr K class is 3 and a half year old, and it's starting to show.

And with that, the gap between the GNR 02 2-8-0 and the LNER 2-8-0+0-8-2 has been bridged. Wonderful as always! Fantastic work good sir! Simply fantastic!

And now I have the LNER's problem- 240m coal trains a B17 can handle, need to build a massive station or two somewhere to take advantage
