Binary Star

คำอธิบาย
Add a binary star to your solar system!

Note for map makers: that this requires that the solar system this mod is attached to uses the Default Environment Definition. However using the Component mod and writing your own definition it is easy enough to create your own.

Orbit Period, 1 hour

Known issues:
Note that this is not yet fully integrated with weather, so you may see it a little oddity in that scenario, wip on that.
Haze effect while in atmo not yet implemented as well.
Binary Sun effect may bleed through ground at certain angles.

Feel free to copy this mod and edit it (Just don't copy the thumbnail).

@MoshPitt if you're having performance issues running Space Engineers that likely has less to do with game optimization and more to do with your rig and how it's set up.

Multiple suns, given multiple light support, the collection of AI NPC mods... All I'm seeing is a recreation of Pitch Black's scenario. :heart_eyes_yeti:

yes, however the game runs crappy enough with a single light source. I can't imagine how this would impact performance with multiple rendered light sources.

Is this non central sun for planets?
Always bug me that all plnets have same star.
Very old geme named Freelancer has stars (as bright planets) that will kill you if you try to go where they are.
Rotation can be tricky as planets tend to rotate around sun but SE voxel cannot allow to move planets.

No, which is why the binary star is close to the original star. Its a visual effect only.

We can ask keen for multiple environment light support :)
