Boom's Persia Rework
Persia is a neat civ. They are like Rome in that they are flexible and are able to either pursue a victory from early war or simply sim city to victory. However, there are a few problems with their design in my opinion. I think of Persia as one of the internal trade route sim civs like Cree, but their trade route bonus is weak and does not scale throughout the game, making externals better very rapidly, while the surprise war mechanic is easily abusable against the AI for +2 movement on all units for the whole game and not very useful against other human players (unless you have a fast pc to declare war faster :p).

Changes
  • Completely reworked Fall of Babylon (Leader ability)

Renamed to Achaemenid Legacy. Land combat units now receive +1 movement and heal every turn, even after moving or attacking, during a Golden Age.

As I said in my Scotland Rework comments section, I dislike wardec mechanics, because they are mostly useful only against AI and are generally very abusable. Thus, I completely removed the surprise war movement and replaced it with a new ability based off Persia's Civ 5 ability, but preserves Persia's combination of war and sim potential.

  • Satrapies now scales with tech and civic

Domestic trade routes receive +2 culture at Guilds and Urbanization and +3 gold at Banking and Economics.

As I said above, Persia's internal bonus quickly becomes obsolete to things like cultural alliance externals, when I think their identity is as an internal civ. Thus, the trade route bonus now gives additional culture as you advance through the civic tree, and additional gold as you advance through the tech tree. This allows Persia players to continue running internals throughout the game.

  • Pairidaeza reverted to 2 appeal and grants +1 Production when next to the City Center

Firaxis nerfed this and I wanted it reverted. Also they aren't great tiles to work usually so this change just makes them more consistent and usable early game.

Compatibility
This mod should be compatible with all other mods that do not change the Fall of Babylon ability. If you run into an incompatibility please tell me and I will update this and try to fix the incompatibility.

Please feel free to leave feedback about compatibility, balance, bugs or anything else you would like to say to me :). Please enjoy my Persia rework!

Nice mod, but the Pairidaiza does not grant +1 production when adjacent to a city center even when the tool tip says it should

Working great so far! I'm really enjoying the scaling on the satrapies ability.

Nope, my mistake, when I updated this I accidentally uploaded the wrong file. Should be fixed now! tell me if there are any more problems.

When I try subscribing to this mod, I keep downloading your pantheon rework mod instead. Is this a problem on my end?
