UI Tweaks Reloaded

Fork of osheroff's UI Tweaks, now using Sim Constructor by Cyberboy2000.

Once installed, the mod can be configured from the Options menu (the one from the main menu/pause menu, not the New Campaign options).

New Features:
  • Improved Pathing: Player-controlled characters avoid stepping in watched/noticed tiles among paths with the shortest length.
  • Improved Icons: Tier I/II/III/IV items have the tier number in their icons. (credit: RolandJ)
  • Improved Tactical View: Use distinct tactical-view sprites for different kinds of cover items (credit: Benjamin C. Lewis)
  • Ability/Overwatch Warnings:
    • Overwatch: Floor icons show exactly which movements will result in being shot by.
    • Overwatch: Warnings show in the tooltip for abilities that may result in being shot. Currently these warnings aren't available on melee/shoot tooltips, which do trigger overwatch if it doesn't take out your attacker(s).
    • Sprinting: Warnings appear over guards that will hear movement noise. (credit: Sizzlefrost)
  • Status Lights: The agent list in the bottom-left of the screen has indicators for various statuses.
    • Ambush/Overwatch
    • Hacking: Indicates an agent performing multi-turn hacking in a fixed position (Data Banks, etc)
    • Sprinting
    • Poisoned (from Programs Extended)
    • Cloak: Indicates the remaining duration and, if applicable, remaining distance. (Credit: RolandJ)
  • Info Mode: Toggle to inspect individual guards' vision, interests, and various effect ranges.
  • Additional visual highlights for the currently selected agent.
  • Allow the player to mark guards as searched/expertly searched, even if the guard has nothing to steal.
  • Mainframe-view firewall labels adjust to avoid overlap.

Classic Features:
  • AP displays include half-points for easier diagonal planning.
  • Inventory items in the upgrade screen can be reordered by drag/drop.
  • Doors can be manipulated as long as the agent can put down a dragged body.
  • Guard tracks and interest points have per-guard colors.

Thanks to osheroff for making a mod so good that the community wants to keep it alive.

I can't seem to load any of my saves anymore; I'm not sure why, but the error message cites this mod. "workshop-2660875942/backend/simability.lua:8: attempt to index local 't' (a nil value)" Here are the logs: https://pastebin.com/scgWa5Z4

The traceback appears to involve this mod, Advanced Cyberwarfare, Situation Reports, Sim Constructor / Sequential Mod Loader, Function Library, OMNI Foundry Plus, Community Bug Fixes, and Generation Options+ -- in approximately that order, plus some repeats.

I don't think it's just this mod causing the breakdown, but do you have any insights into what interaction might be at fault? It started happening most recently when I changed up some presets, so maybe I can figure out what to turn off to make it stop.

maybe it is possible it's one of the other mods? but it is not shown as the cause in the log.

i played with disable action cam, sim constructor, quick loader, ui tweaks reloaded, talkitive agents for a good bit just fine. i installed the other mods and decided to try a new save and issues started to happen with the new save. didnt touch the old save, but i was also expecting that the new mods only affect new saves and the old saves would work with the new mods disabled.

i also had another session that had the settings menu bug out but did not crash, had to alt-f4. it is showing errors with the prerequisite mod, not this one, but maybe it could help

hello qoala; thanks for this nice work. would there be a way to restore the original top bar? i play with settings that don't really require it (similar to the base game), and i would love to have the old one back. or the dream would be a little button that opens a pop up for those extra options. do I have to modify anything? if it's something easy, i might do it myself. anyway, thanks =)

@parogen, could you provide some more detail about the crash you're seeing with UI Tweaks and Quick Loader? I haven't been able to reproduce it yet, either mid-mission or by changing settings in the menu.
Could you send me a log? (On windows C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\Klei\InvisibleInc\logs\invisibleinc.txt) If the log file looks empty or nearly empty, you may also need to display "Gameplay > Batch Logging" in the options menu.

Didn't get to the compatibility test, but I fixed the KO'ed guards thing. Despite my initial triage, the real problem was that the previous version only filtered by KO when looking through guards in LoS, but the mod also looks through the "ghosts" of guards that you know about but can't currently see.
Also added a radius highlight to the current cursor position, to help identify when your path continues past where the guard can hear you.

Oops. Sorry for the delay, just confirmed, I somehow managed to pack the most recent mod update with the version ID bumped and without the underlying code changes.

And I'll add a compatibility check with Quick Loader to my queue. Depending on how things look, I might just push the existing "no warning for KO'ed guards" update or try to get in some additional fixes.

I saw the changelog said that it avoids showing the sound warning for ko'd guards.

I still saw the effect for me. The room the guard is in was the starting room, I left him there. Only his body there.

I seem to crash every time after the start of the mission with this and quick loader. disabling either shows no issues. it could be shortly after i open the menu since im just changing settings waiting for the crash.

the world disappears and turns black, only the menu stays, but the game is frozen for a couple of seconds, then a pop up tells me a dump has been made.
