PlaySound Improved

Description
This is an unofficial improved version of Draco_2k's PlaySound addon.
Credits goes to the original creator.

PlaySound enables you to play any sound and music in the game.

If an admin of the server plays a sound/music, it will be heard in the whole server. But as a regular player, doing so would only play the sound/music clientside instead.

The lists are accessible in the Options tab of the spawnmenu.

Soundtrack lists included:
  • Half-Life 1 & Opposing Force
  • Half-Life 2 (with the Episodes & Combine Overwatch sounds)
  • Portal 1
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Left 4 Dead 1 & 2

FAQ
  • "Please add a loop function!!"
    No. It is simply not possible due to engine limitations.

    The only other way to make sounds loop is by using Wavosaur[www.wavosaur.com] and add loop points in your audio file, make sure it is a WAV file. In Source Engine, only WAV files support sound looping, MP3 and OGG files do not.

  • "Why do some of the music tracks don't play?"
    Some tracks come from games that require you to own and mount them, for example like Portal and Left 4 Dead 2.

    Or in other cases like if you're making your own PlaySound list, make sure the sample rate of your audio is at least 44100 kHz. It will not work if the value is higher than that.

portal 2 soundtrack was made as a separate addon because of its file size

you need to make left 4 dead 1 playsound but not requiring the game
