Swordsman's Rags

Lore-friendly armor that's been completely and seamlessly added into Kenshi.

Based on the Assassin's Rags, the Swordsman's Rags are heavily plated and geared to protect the sword arm of the user while keeping them agile. Sadly, clanking scrap metal isn't very stealthy.

The armor carries slave stigma for reasons hinted at in its description, so be wary.

Import recommended.

• New body armor that's guaranteed to keep your swordslingin' arm safe while providing unreliable protection of the chest.
  
• Fully introduced into the world on characters I saw fit. They're generally scarce, but you'll find them most often with rebels or Sheks.
  
• Sold in most places outside the UC, but pretty uncommonly. Again, check the Sheks.
  
• Crafting recipe is unlocked with the Plate Armour Crafting research, no hunting for blueprints needed.
  
• Colormapped and dyeable. Looks neat in black or white.
  
• Reworked rigging to ensure the armguard moves naturally.
  
• NEW - Rebalanced to be more effective. Suited for offensive swordsmen who don't mind getting hurt.

It shouldn't matter.


If you want to know what mods are used in the screenshots just ask, the only ones I can remember are the Azuchi Armor plus its Vanilla Aesthetic Patch and some mods I made and probably didn't upload to WS.

Feel free to recommend balance changes or make edits if you'd like. I generally don't consider hyper offensive gear to be that useful compared to substantial staying power, so I don't consider the armor too strong. I'd say it's better than the Assassin's Rags but worse than armor with good coverage like the White Plate Jacket or quality heavy armor.

If a version that's the same green as vanilla samurai pants is requested enough, i'll put out a patch. They were made with Samurai Legplates Recolor and the vanilla Tagelmust in mind.
