SteveM4's 'Balanced Engine' 4-4-0

Description
Happy Holidays TpF2 community!
Important announcement at the bottom of this description

Ok, so those of you who remember, I released a locomotive of my own design in TpF1's final days. I have spent many hours remastering that model to bring everyone a special Christmas gift.

Here's some info from the TpF1 description:

This engine was designed by myself to eliminate the rocking motion of conventional puffers. This actually went though a design process that was very similar to locomotives of the 1880s in the UK. I even drew plans out on paper and everything (I have a problem).

Here's a lengthy document I wrote about my fictional engine. I really do have no life:

And here's a bit of info about 'balanced' locomotives, they really were a thing:

I know a lot of you are in TpF2 and modding Discords and communities, and I hereby state that if anyone wants to modify/reskin any of my mods, I give permission to do so.

If you really want to ask, I'm active on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/SteveM4_

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. I am no professional 3D artist, nor programmer or modder, this is just a bit of fun for someone who likes trains a little too much.

No professional 3D artist? You are one of the best on the workshop for locos!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it seems the mod is causing crashing for me at least.

According to both of my crash dumps the last thing the game tried before the game crashed was loading something from the audio effects. The file it's looking for isn't there and the game crashes. This is what I mean:

WARNING: alutCreateBufferFromFile failed for "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/1066780/2331600722/res/audio/effects/ ": I/O error (code 0x20e)

Once again, I'm sorry to bother you but I thought it was something I should bring up in case someone else is having this issue.

Congratulations also. Despite the issues I'm having with this mod, it the only one I've ever had with your machines, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Hope the coming years will be kind for you and your family.

Congratulations Steve, and thank you so much for all the wonderful locomotives you've released to the community over the last two and a half years, you've made all my steam maps come alive with your excellent models. And what a great way to sign off for now - your very own loco. I think that makes you CME ! Best wishes.

Congrats, I look forward to a day when you can start corrupting your kid into the realms of nerd-dom that you inhabit, and we shall see you whenever you have time in the future to share your passions once more.

Cheers, and a Merry Christmas to you all.

Nice design, my dude. An interesting concept, does this idea actually exsist in real life?

One thing I don't understand is that if there are two connecting rods, therefore making the wheels balanced, is there still a need for the counter balance weights on the wheels themselves?
