This or something similar needs to be in the base game in the form of a setting toggle or mode or world selection. Dependency handling and ordering is also a major issue when adding mods to a world, which can be handled by the Steam dependency listing, or offloaded to the mod developers.

Offline Cryptocurrency transactions and storage prove this point regardless.

In the earliest days of the economy update I played a survival game where I built a long-range ship and sold ore and ingots and ran whatever missions I could find to physically earn a billion credits. It took a few hours of spare time (probably more than a "few"), but I did it. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
