Rueful Realms

Description
"That we should live to fearfully tread such sorrow-filled lands..."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hades loves to play with minds before he turns up for that final, personal visit - distorting the world around his victims. ...His playthings.

His followers throw up shrines in his honour at which they perform their dark rites trying to bring about his earliest return.

In this warped and twisted world, humans, long conditioned to revert to tribalism and blame each other at the first sign of troubles, (while ignoring the true, overarching danger), squabble amongst themselves for the meagre resources left to them.

Will you be a lone survivor? A force for unity? A conquering warlord?

Or just another unrecorded statistic?

10/10: More filling out existing areas. Improved vehicle access to medieval 'realm'.

24/9: General tidying & prop-filling. Continued working on vehicle accessibility - now possible, (but challenging), to get to, and drive, 'Route 666' to 'Tilt Town' with a keen eye and the right vehicle ;)

19/9: Back in business! Thanks, developer dudes ;) - Couple of trial areas to muck about in. I'll be filling these out as time permits. Adjusted the map for better vehicle navigation, too.

18/9: Temple of Balance added.

30/8: NOT abandoned. Just waiting for updates ;)

3/8: "Bilderberg Bugout" area and a junk maze added.

28/7: Added "The Land that Forgot Time" and, (For Chekov fans!), "The Cherry Orchard"

27/7: Mad Botanist's Lab appears in town...

As always, suggestions/advice welcome.

You're more than welcome. I'll keep tweaking as/when I get the chance.
Let me know if you spot any glitches or ways to improve :)

The 'Pilot Error' area was fun to do ;)

Not sure I didn't obscure the scene too much with trees, tho...

Awesome, "The Land that Forgot Time"!

Thanks

That sounds like a wise plan. It does seem like the devs periodically release new props so it makes sense to wait for more.

I like the idea of having “themes” as it really does tell a story. That gives the map so much character!

Also, filling in the map with props as you are doing is the kind of dedication that makes a map stand out feel like a real place, the immersion makes you want to play in it!

Thanks for your time and work on this!

@Someone Else:

Thanks for your very kind words and encouragement. It means a lot!
My ambition is to eventually fill the entire map with odd places covering different 'themes'.
I'm hanging back from using much more space right now in the hope that more map-making props and/or tools will become available as the developers progress... and I get more of a handle on the technicalities of mapping! Really just fudging things till they work at the moment :/

In the meantime, I'm focusing on filling out already-existing, but empty buildings with props that, hopefully, tell some kind of mini 'story' that players can interpret for themselves.
If you have any ideas, please feel free to chuck 'em at me ;)
