[CRM_L_1]ShaoShan 5 Electric Locomotive

This is the first fast electric locomotive developed in China. In 1989, two locomotives were taken offline and put into operation for assessment. Only two years later, in 1991, the Ministry of Railways issued a task book for the development of Shaoshan 8 electric locomotives. During this period, the successful development of Shaoshan 6 and Shaoshan 7 series locomotives made the Shaoshan 5 locomotive, which had lower power, completely obsolete.
Therefore, CRRC Zhuzhou has abandoned further improvements to this locomotive and instead applied the mature experience and technology from this locomotive to the development of the Shaoshan 8 locomotive. Fortunately, the only two Shaoshan 5 locomotives have been preserved.
