if there is a way for compatibility patches to be added, on top of collections, to fix any issues then maybe that can be an option.
all i know is that (for me at least), large self contained modpacks have enabled me to enjoy and experience a wide range of mods, that i wouldnt have been able to play (due to mod launcher issues), as well as stability that no single mod out a bunch of dependencies, is suddenly going to break etc.
there are some disadvantages to it, but also some benefits to the 1 big self contained mod approach, especially when some modders ive seen, have openly mentioned that they dont have the time to address compatibility problems. (its a mixed blessing i guess, but even me as a modder for other games, id still welcome someone to include my mods in a big pack... as long as they didnt start charging people for it, since i dont currently charge anything myself :)
LordOfLa does it this way, and the modding community is quite accepting of him.
This is not how you do modpacks."
hi james, a lot of people seem to wish that modpackers get permission to put mods in packs.
it now looks like this is what is happening..
is there 'any' scenario where you would actually welcome and approve of coulson or others making modpacks?
