British Rail Class 156 DMU Reworked

The class 156 were built by BREL in 1987, as part of the replacement of the 1st generation DMUs. These "Super Sprinter" trains were introduced alongside the Class 158 & Class 159 "Express Sprinters" as well as the Class 150, Class 153 and Class 155 "Sprinters".

The super sprinters are capable of 75mph, using two 285hp Cummins diesel engines. They are still commonplace today, but are slowly being replaced by newer Class 195 DMUs in the North and Class 745 & Class 755 FLIRT trains in East Anglia.
