UPDATE 14/12/2019: This is the 5th and last update to this map, its been more than 50h in the works for a couple weeks now and I want to start playing :)


How to enable experimental map sizes:
  • Head to:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR USER NUMBER\1066780\local
  • Open the file "settings.lua" in notepad or other text editor
  • Find "experimentalMapSizes = false" and change the value to true

For those of you, like me, who can't find this map even after changing the experimental map size setting: from the menu go to Map Editor > Load Map and there you'll find the Japan map

@LeVa - It's a built in mod that comes with the game called Sandbox Mode, similar to the other built in mods like no costs and no vehicle end year.

@tomasantony - I swear to God I've been trying to find that "sandbox mode" mod for a while now and I can't seem to be able to locate anything in the Workshop.

Could you by any chance please post a link to it?

Also, I know this is a dumb question but how exactly does one start a game on this map? I have the megalomaniac mode engaged and all that but when I click to start a Free game, I can't for the life of me see the map...

@Nox - easiest way to do this is load the "sandbox mode" mod - set the year to what you want, plus anything else like placing new towns, modifying industries and setting your initial cash reserves, then you can disable the sandbox mod to play.

Hi guys. I just notice that there is a phantom road cost when using this map. I got this road cost even when I have not built anything at the beginning of the game...

how can I start at 1920 or some another date. Game doesnt allow me to change the date and I dont want to play it from 1850.
