Realistic Collapses and Disease Incidence (NO DLCs version)

This is my second mod in my "Project Hospital Overhaul" collection which aims to provide realism and increase immersion. The mod changes the game in two ways:

1. Changes the progression of certain collapse symptoms to mirror collapses in real life hospitals (I'm a doctor and have lots of insight!)

2. Changes how often patients with certain diseases spawn

Works with an existing save.

Have you ever felt like a ridiculous number of patients were collapsing every day in your hospital due to Heart Failure or Dehydration? I certainly did. Most hospitals (at least in the USA) rarely ever see more than 1 or 2 Code Blues a day on average. That's the emergency code for cardiac arrest - or in game terms, "Heart Failure". Yet in Project Hospital, collapses due to Heart Failure happen at an extremely unrealistic rate. I went through the "Symptoms.xml" and "Symptoms_main.xml" files and edited a large number of parameters that control how soon patients collapse due to certain symptoms. After over a month of testing and tweaking, I feel like collapses are finally where I want them to be. You will find that FAR less patients will collapse as soon as they enter your hospital. The majority of collapses will be in post-surgery patients (just like in real life) or patients that have been festering in your clinics without diagnosis and treatment for a long time. Cardiac arrest (Heart Failure) is much less common if your hospital is properly designed and staffed. I highly recommend you use this mod with my "Bedside Examinations" mod which helps diagnose and treat patients a lot faster.


The other major function of this mod is the alteration of disease incidence. Diseases like Cholera, Pulmonary Anthrax, Rabies (and so many more) are EXCEPTIONALLY rare in the developed world, yet it seems like you see new cases of them every single day in Project Hospital. I went through all the diseases in the game and edited the likelihood of them occurring by editing the "DiagnosisOccurrences.xml". The result is a realistic case load where common conditions are seen regularly and rare conditions are exactly that - rare.
