@shhhhh2 See the conversation below I had with Vincent. It has information about how to create a custom gamemode.

How do I create a game mode file?

It's great, but you need to update the gamemode and remove the Plasma ball powerup since it makes the ball big

I think the whole point in locking the game from custom files is to keep control on rules for on-line scores. But that could be done otherwise, I personally love to be able to include my own musics or levels. For example in Kyodai Mahjongg you have folders and you just put whatever you want in them.

I thought at one point you would have been able to put such a thing in the custom folder containing your mod for the workshop, but I guess not... I'd like to experiment with that though.

I see, I thought there may be a more simple way as I didn't create any boardset but only want to try modes. I wish the files just appear in the menu normally when you put them inside the regular gamemode folder. Thank you very much for helping though.

@Vincent C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\ You will see 1 or SOME folders that have random numbers in their name. Try to find the DXBall 2 folder in one of those folders. Then find a folder ID that has your board-set in it and paste the gamemode file in it. Then it will appear in the menu.

@Kry I know that, but I'm asking how to actually use it in the game. When I create my own customized files they do not appear in the menu.

@Vincent To make a custom gamemode all you have to do is go to the gamemodes folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DX-Ball 2 - 20th Anniversary Edition) and then find the gamemodes folder. Copy and paste any gamemode file you want and just open it with notepad.

Please Kry can you tell me how you can use and test a customized gamemode file ? Mine doesn't show in the menu, and when I use an existing filename the menu displays "unknown" and the game crashes when I start it. Thank you very much.
