Caltrop Spikes [0.7]

Kuvaus
Sharp spikes to injure and slow down your enemies -- works on Barbarians!

*******************************************************************************

0.7 Note: The sounds are a bit glitched right now, especially for the female. I will look at this once I get the rest of my mods up and running. Could be a few more weeks. Mod still works though.

Hi all.

My latest mod adds a popular piece of Medieval castle defense to your arsenal: the caltrop.

A caltrop is simply a piece of metal with four spikes, angled so that no matter how you throw them on the ground, 1 spike is pointing upward. These vicious weapons were the forerunner of landmines, and are an excellent way to slow down and soften an attacking force.

You can make two types of caltrop:

Simple Caltrop
Made at a smithy once you learn to make metal weapons. Stepping on one causes instant damage, a bleed-effect damage-over-time, and a major slowdown in movement for 7 seconds. The bleed can be healed by a normal bandage.

Diseased Caltrop
Made at a crafting table by "rotting" a piece of meat together with caltrops for 15 minutes. Stepping on one causes instant damage, slowdown for 7 seconds, and a 30-second-long disease damage. The disease CANNOT be cured or stopped by a normal bandage. However, if you have my Lavender Voxel mod, you can make lavender bandages that will cure this.

Also, get creative with these caltrops! Attach them to the end of wooden timbers to make a painful palisade defense (see picture). Or attach one to a rope end and let it swing down into your enemies. Launch caltrops from a catapult into your enemy's town to demoralize them. Have fun, and get Medieval!

As always, I hope you enjoy this mod. And I can't wait to see how you all make use of it.

They won’t, especially with world chunking. If you’re more than a few grids away, they won’t even show up and will have zero effect at all

Storid, don't you think it's bad for the world in multiplayer? if they are cheap to produce and so small, they might slow down the server in big amounts. just thoughts..

Hi Artasan. They do not decay — at least they are not supposed to decay. They are blocks, instead of “inventory items,” and should persist forever.

is they decay if dropped(not attached) or what happen to them and how long it takes if so?

YouTube removed your video. You would think it was about how slavery and abuse was awesome, but it's probably just about the mod. Ugh... YouTube...
