Technophobia: Episode 1

Omschrijving
New Year's Eve, 2097. While the Midnight District is busy celebrating, Faraday has bills to pay. As a Runner, she traverses the metropolis from the rooftops, making emergency repairs to damaged electronics all across the city. It's illegal, but it's a living.

Will it all go bad for Faraday? Will she at least get paid? Yes. Probably.

Technophobia is a fan mod that tells an original story using the NEON STRUCT assets. There are 5 levels and an emphasis on platforming. If anyone actually plays this and enjoys it, I'll think about continuing the story with more episodes later on.

Have fun and mind the bugs.

Nice map and quite interesting story. But tbh in many areas it's way too dark. At some points I had to turn the brightness to the max value.

Game crashes when I open the door behind the New Year's sign. neon-log.txt just says this:

I really enjoyed this, lots of good atmosphere in the levels and the start of a neat story! Too bad it hasn't been continued but what can you do. I should give making a level a try sometime...

This makes me wish I could give Steam reviews to mods. This is just great and intelligent game design. Just one thing: Put some more lights on please. I know many cities are dark at night, but at least let me see what I'm walking towards.

Haha I appreciate the thought of making money for a mod, but David at Minor Key already gave me hours and hours of his time answering questions on modding the game. Maybe if I found the time to put out regular content I'd do a Patreon or something.

I wouldn't mind paying for this and other episodes. Maybe there's some arrangement to be made with the Neon Struct developers.

Don't see a way to reply to comments, but thank you all for checking out the mod over the last few years! I did probably get in over my head calling this "episode 1" since after making it, I got the confidence to try and make my own games. Well, that didn't really turn out as I wanted, so I am considering getting back to making episode two of this--I have of course completely forgotten how to use the editor and write the code for it, but hopefully it will all come back soon enough.

Great mod! Way better environments than the base game and an interesting story I'd love to see more of. Guess I'm pretty late to checking it out, but forever hopeful for an Episode 2 as well. Great work! :angrydante:
