UPDATE: I am working on updating all my planet mods, but I need some help. Many of the planet mods I create make use of albedo shading. This technique, discovered by Xilthis, creates subtle shading that brings a little more depth to planets. We had to use the ore mark mechanic to do this. Since Keen has changed the way ore marks are done, it is no longer possible to do this using that mechanic; but, it is still possible to do if Keen will implement it. If we can get the votes up, maybe they will make this technique part of the approach to planet design. Please go here and vote for this feedback: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/return-the-ability-to-create-planetary-albedo-maps-using-add-file. They will not listen to feedback with only a few votes. Please help.

Ganymede is the largest moon of Jupiter and, in fact, the largest satellite in the Solar System. It is just less than half the size of the Earth. It is surface is ice, separated into two types of regions. There are younger (though, still ancient), lighter, ridged, areas. These regions have some ancient impact craters that are covered by the ridges, but also some more recent impacts that break up the ridges. Virtually all of the craters in these regions are fairly shallow. Nobody quite understands how these regions with their bizarre ridges developed on the moon. There are also older, rougher, darker, more heavily cratered regions.

There is a very thin atmosphere of pure O2, but not enough to breathe or to make use of atmospheric thrusters. But, because of the very low gravity, mining and other ship-related work can be done with Ion Thrusters - though, you may need more than you would in 0g.

Suggested size: 49 km
Gravity: 0.146 g

There is vanilla ore placement, at the moment - custom ore placement is in the works and will be finalized once I've finished the other Galilean moons.

All heightmaps and textures are original and were created in World Machine, Grand Designer, Substance Designer, and Photoshop.

Please check change notes for information on updates.

@Rian Blitz - If you want to use my mods for your private server and make changes, then you must change the visibility to friends-only. It creates confusion when my mod is reposted publicly. So, either make them friends-only or take them down.

Hello. I am the person who made the modification mod of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Ceres and Ganymede.
I am not familiar with English, please understand.
First, I apologize for the unauthorized modding and uploading.
It was because your mode was so cool and wonderful.
Your mod was modified gravity, ore generation, etc. for use on my server.
I acknowledge that the description of the modified mode is insufficient, and I would like to ask you for permission to use the modified mode.
Of course it depends entirely on your decision.
I will apologize once more and wait for the good news...

Real Ganymede has a diameter of 5,268 km. It has an iron-nickel rich metalic core. It is believed that Ganymede is equally composed of Silicate Rock and Water Ice.

Has NASA managed to make a topographic map of Ganymede yet?

I will be updating all my planets to work with the most recent patch. Been waiting for the code to settle and it looks like its' doing that now. :)

The Voxels on this Moon are reseting at each Death and Serverrestart.
We are playing on a Ded. Server with 5 People.

This is a problem for Keen to solve by allowing config mods. I've requested it, they have done nothing.

Then, no, sorry.
