Updated, and includes weather particles 'optimisation'

Plugin Loader users, this is in fact a mod, not a plugin, from how i understand it, the plugin loader can load this mod 'client side' so you can have less graphically demanding vanilla particle effects for any server you play on.

currently untested, it does not make game crash so thats a bonus, im not currently able to dig out my minimum spec test system and compare

Disclaimer: this mod does not actually optimise anything, its just a catchy name, it just reduces particles per second for everything including the drill particles, you can reduce drill particles further with mods below

this one is about 75% reduction in drill dust and stone particles:

these should improve performance on low performance systems in all areas of game play that have a particle effect bringing your Frames Per Second down :)

This mod does work (with the current bulid), finally I don't lag when driving on snow with a rover.

Не знаю. У меня с оригинальными текстурами лагов нет, решил просто затестить, вдруг при нагрузках станет плавнее. Но этот мод наглухо убил оптимизацию, мало того, что не слабо тормозит игру, так ещё и крашает её..

this cant be 'broken' its just a definition file edit/replacement, all it can do is not have any recent changes that keen made
CRITICAL ERRORS like that are likely mod corruption, which is a steam thing, best clear your mod cache,. google should find a guide for this

Started getting this:

Not sure what the cause might be - happens even in a new world with just this mod loaded

both, you can use the SEPluginLoader system (on github) to load this for your client on any server you play on.
