AS2 Modding Gems

I've just started modding AS2 and would like to use this thread as a jot pad to document any modding gems discovered along the way. If you happen by please feel free to pull up a comfy chair, have a read, and maybe add some gems of your own.

When your in F1 or F3 mode you can select which player side you want to be in control of by making sure your num pad light is lit and then pressing zero on your num pad for player0, one for player1, etc.
If you place units on the map after you've pressed the start button then they'll disappear when you press the finish button.
When you start a game the Highlight Silhouettes button is normally selected: to change this so the game starts without the Highlight Silhouettes button being selected (no red blobs), scroll down to the bottom of this file "C:\ steam \ steamapps \ common \ Men of War Assault Squad 2 \ resource \ interface.pak \ interface \ profiles \ default \ settings.set" and put a zero at the end of this line, like this - {highlight_silhouettes 0}. Save and exit.

The map and mission need to be saved separately, ie. save the map in F2 mode fist, then save the mission in F3 mode once you've placed down some units.
The gem editors' default location is here - C:\ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Men of War Assault Squad 2 \ mowas_2_ed.exe

Can I press the key F1 in the start screen or where do I have to press this to get in the actual editor?

Go to the games' folder C:\ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Men of War Assault Squad 2 \
and look for mowas_2_ed.exe: double click it. The editor should load and you'll be able to use F1 F2 F3 etc. There's also some great tutorials on youtube - 123stealthbombers' channel is very good.
