Wow, the Pirate game genre is pretty dry right now. I wish there was a game that could scratch that itch.

The Yakuza series for some reason:

Never have I been so confused in my life @~@

The best way I can describe this was that this game was designed to be fun. It feels like it's a game that was designed by people who wanted other people to enjoy their passion project.

Character writing so far is amazing, incredible voice acting, meaty combat, great music - and while it is early days and I can't comment on the story. I'm hooked enough to want to know what happens next for the characters alone.

I can see why people love the Yakuza series and this is coming from someone who's never really touched the games. And while this game isn't necessarily something I'd normally play (I'm normally a sucker for zombie survival games/looting type games), I feel like I appreciate the work that's gone into this. While of course every product like this is designed to make money, for me personally at least I feel like this clearly had a lot of love poured into it.
