Ah, just the mod for me.
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 13. sep. 2018 kl. 18:29
Glad to hear it. Let me know if it happens again.
Empress Kaligosa 7. sep. 2018 kl. 18:58
My apologies for not letting you know if the bug was fixed, kept forgeting to check in on the update lol. I can confirm that its fixed for me though, thanks :)
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 23. aug. 2018 kl. 19:24
@Darth Caligo @mrkillerovsky
Honestly, I don't have any idea what might be causing it. I could try recompiling the mod to see if just updating it will fix the problem, but if that doesn't work then I'm out of ideas. But it has been almost a year since I last updated this, so maybe that's all it'll need. Check back tomorrow or Saturday, 25 August, hopefully I'll have a new version by then. And let me know if the problem is fixed or not. If it isn't, I'll probably put a warning in the description about it.
Empress Kaligosa 23. aug. 2018 kl. 19:00
I've got the same problem as the person below me, it seems like everytime i have to unsub and resub to get this to work properly, doing that just to get real weapon names and stuff is quite tedious and I'd like to ask if there is a current fix or if theres any plans to fix it.
mrkillerovsky 16. maj 2018 kl. 13:58
Hello, for some reason the addon only starts working properly when I unsub and sub after each time I start up the game. If I dont do that, the game will use the default descriptions.

Any idea why and how to fix it?
This is really good mod and I wanna experience it in its full glory.

Thanks in advance.

thank you, very helpful :steamhappy:
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 13. aug. 2017 kl. 11:13
@Purzel2205 Download and use GCFscape to find and extract the doi_english.txt (or whatever language) file. There's plenty of tutorials on how to use that, so search around for those if you need.
Once you've extracted the file, edit it however you want. It's just a simple text file, so even Notepad will work.
From there you'll want to place the file in common\dayofinfamy\doi\custom\[mod name]\resource. Make the custom folder yourself if you don't have one, and give the folder inside that whatever name you want the mod file to be named.
Then open common/dayofinfamy/bin in a new window and drag the [mod name] folder onto vpk.exe. This will pack the files into a .vpk mod in the custom folder, and that should be all you need to do. If you want to share the mod or upload it to the Workshop, the .vpk file is all you need to upload.
Purzel2205 12. aug. 2017 kl. 15:05
how did you make this UI mod? i want to make a private mod that changes ingame texts but i have no idea where to start

@Patches i think i got some good news for you, this mod does somehow work on mac, i dunno since when, and i dunno how, but i seems to work. same for the swastika pack lol
Sharp 28. juni 2017 kl. 15:42
This soothes my autism, many thanks to you my good man.
ScarletRed 26. juni 2017 kl. 13:13
frag still stands for fragmentatio, so maybe use MK. II Fragmentation Grenade
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 26. juni 2017 kl. 12:36
@Maki The text file only shows me "mags," "shells," and "rounds." So changing "mags" to "clips" would change it for every gun that reloads with a magazine. I'm not able to change it any further (at least, not with my current knowledge of the files). My internal excuse is, just think of it as "X magazine-fulls" rather than actual magazines. Close enough, I suppose.
Panzerfaust will be fixed in the next update. I spent some time researching each one, went in-game to try and get a glance at the rockets' fins, and realized "60" was written right on the warhead where it should be. Felt pretty silly for not noticing that before.
Clarifying "frag" in the name isn't a bad idea since it's easier than reading the description, and it's consistent with the AN-M8 and German grenades. I'll change that as well.
Maki 25. juni 2017 kl. 21:30
Can you change it so it reads "X Clips" and not "X Mags" on the HUD for weapons like the M1 Garand? Also, the Panzerfaust in game is the 60m version, not 150m. The pineapple grenade is noted as "Mk. II" but the smoke grenade "AN-M8 Smoke". May want to name it "Mk. II Frag"?
Eery Jan 23. juni 2017 kl. 16:23
Ah.
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 23. juni 2017 kl. 15:30
@AxiomNachtFox™ The armbands were political insignia anyway, not military, worn by Nazi political leaders and administrators rather than military commanders. For example, Joseph Goebbels was Gauleiter of the Berlin area and wore the armband, but was never a member of the German military. There may have been some crossover between the Waffen SS, but I can't find any evidence of the NSDAP armbands being worn in combat. The only ones I can find in combat are the white medic armbands.
Eery Jan 23. juni 2017 kl. 15:00
No red banded Germans yet though.
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 23. juni 2017 kl. 14:55
@AxiomNachtFox™ What you want is the Swastika Pack texture mod, then. I use it myself, I would include it in the above list except that it's not really related to any of the UI edits I've made.
Swastika pack is found here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=935268083
ScarletRed 23. juni 2017 kl. 4:52
thats not in the nature of this mod since this mod is a UI text overhaul, not a graphics overhaul, there are otehr mods that add swastikas.
Eery Jan 23. juni 2017 kl. 4:29
I know it may offend some.... but it's historically accurate...
...I want swastikas on the Germans.
pricken of Pax Armata 22. juni 2017 kl. 20:57
@Patches Alright, it's fixed, weird though.
pricken of Pax Armata 22. juni 2017 kl. 20:48
@Patches Nope, tried an offline game and still uses the default text, I'll try re-installing it and see if that works.
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 22. juni 2017 kl. 19:53
@King Pricken If it works on some servers and not others, it's definitely the server. Go into an offline practice game to see if it works there. It should work offline and in any server that doesn't disallow mods.
pricken of Pax Armata 22. juni 2017 kl. 16:46
Having an error where it changes back to default text, might be the servers I'm on though, but please check this.
Dippy 21. juni 2017 kl. 5:01
What a true nerd mod.Not that i'm hating on it or anything.

NOOT NOOT!!! 19. juni 2017 kl. 23:17
i think u got the webley wrong. It should be the Webley mk iv .38
ScarletRed 19. juni 2017 kl. 21:32
@MikeyRyu do you mean german UI language? then no, but the german equipment and so yes.
siguy10 19. juni 2017 kl. 19:17
The Commonwealth knife may be a Fairbairn–Sykes, or some other knife not manufactured by Britain.
MikeyRyu 19. juni 2017 kl. 10:27
Does this cover the german UI as well?
Cranjis McBasketball 19. juni 2017 kl. 5:02
Also, @Patches, I'm probably spamming by now, but this topic gets me talking :P
Anywho, the British bayonet may actually be a Pattern 1913 (P13), it has the somewhat same design yet lacks a rivet and is not manufactured with brass (but that's really pure cosmetic).
Cranjis McBasketball 19. juni 2017 kl. 4:49
Only reason why devs added the Energa and not the WWII Enfield cup discharger (forgot name of it) its because the cup overlapped the weapon's iron sights, making it a hindrance to mount and unmount the cup on the rifle, also, most of all grenade launchers of this were used bullet blanks or other non lethal munitions to discharge the grenades.
ScarletRed 19. juni 2017 kl. 4:04
@Werewolf Faggot you need to keep in mind that the game needs balance, why should all but one army have rifle grenades? the brits only have their PIATs while the germans got Panzerfäuste, Panzerschrecken and more and the muricans got their Bazookas. And maybe the game is in an alternative history where the ENERGA rifle grenade got invented earlier ;)
Andbrew 19. juni 2017 kl. 1:50
Thanks for the answer.
What I meant is that some guns weren't even made yet at the time you're playing, like Sten Mk.V and FG-42 in map Crete (1941)...
Cranjis McBasketball 18. juni 2017 kl. 18:41
>Energa rifle grenade in a WWII game
Cranjis McBasketball 18. juni 2017 kl. 18:40
Thanks for responding! I did find yet another small error, the Panzerfaust is of a model 60, not 150, I think the 150s had a pointy warhead and were experimental. The K98 Bayonet though, I'm sure it should have some sort of German name to it. Maybe its the third version of the 84/98? Those being called Seitengewehr 84/98 III. Then again, devs had total control over this and may have had other references. I'd love to see some sources! As for the Vickers, not a huge fan of this rarely seen version, very far fetched inna way, of course devs had to modify it to make it more suitable for infantry usage, called it a Mk. VI because of its fluted container.
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 18. juni 2017 kl. 17:01
@Werewolf Faggot [Part 2] A little more snooping suggests that the Vickers may actually be a Mk. VII, as I was able to find http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll268/vickersmachinegun/Website%20images/image9.jpg with a number of similar features to the in-game model. The bipod, the shoulder stock (albeit longer and metallic, rather than the game's short, wooden version), and the rear monopod mount. The water jacket is smooth rather than fluted, but I imagine those are probably interchangeable. I will also fix this with the next update, thank you very much for bringing these unique variants to my attention!

@Pfc. A. Maxim [508th E.Co]-3s- Sorry, all I know how to do is edit this one text file. Anything like a total conversion mod is well beyond my reach.
Cleric 110  [ophavsmand] 18. juni 2017 kl. 17:01
@Werewolf Faggot [Part 1] Please feel free to leave more posts like this in the future if you find anything else! I'll fix the Stielhandgranates with the next update.
The K98 bayonet is a later modification of the Seitengewehr 84/98 so they do look very similar, but I believe the in-game version is the K98. The K98 began production in 1934 and was the standard bayonet throughout WWII. 1918-1934 models of the SG 84/98 are almost identical to the K98, so I've given it the name K98 more based on historical production dates and usage.
The Commonwealth knife in-game is far enough away from what both the P1907 and M1917 are supposed to look like that I'm not sure I'd want to give it the name. But if people want it anyway, I suppose I'll do it. Maybe I'll make a poll or something.
Boaboa 18. juni 2017 kl. 14:30
Hence the total conversion. What is your point?
ScarletRed 18. juni 2017 kl. 11:46
not like all guns are restricted to WWII
Andbrew 18. juni 2017 kl. 11:20
Is it possible to make this total conversion mod and add things like guns restricted to that time period and ect.?
