how fast?
Nopetard  [autor] 1 mai 2021 la 6:14
I am going to try to get in and adapt the recipe on the foods to remove the oil requirements.
PMC_Zero 1 mai 2021 la 1:32
Take care!

Ouch... Best wishes on your recovery dude/dudette.
Nopetard  [autor] 24 mart. 2021 la 21:08
I have been dealing with health issues and lat stage liver disease. This has prevented me from doing any modding for some time.
Jhitereptar 22 mart. 2021 la 3:07
I notice about 2 years ago you said something about setting up ini settings.. Is that still planned or whats going on with that..? lol
Nopetard  [autor] 25 ian. 2020 la 21:35
it is just slightly faster then vanilla
sun ★ 23 ian. 2020 la 21:08
how long to make jerky?
sun ★ 23 ian. 2020 la 21:07
nvm i figured it out ty
sun ★ 23 ian. 2020 la 21:07
It doesnt work!! whenever i go to inventory the jerky is not an option to make. nothing is there in the slots pls help
Royal Raven 25 mart. 2019 la 7:20
Yeah from description it sounds like it just uses spark powder only. It is basically like the stock one, since it uses oil and spark powder and produces jerky at the same rate.
Nopetard  [autor] 19 mart. 2019 la 9:35
Yes it needs oil, spark powder, and meat.
Royal Raven 18 mart. 2019 la 17:10
Yeah it finally made a jerky after I put oil in it. It is acting like stock one.
Royal Raven 18 mart. 2019 la 16:57
I dont think this is working anymore. I have the electric smoker, it is powered. I have cooked meat and spark powder in it. It also says it needs oil in discription. I wonder if it reverted back to a regular Preserving bin or something. I had waited a long time and still no jerky made.
Nopetard  [autor] 14 mart. 2019 la 20:23
Sparkpowder is part of the curing. I have not tried with new kibble.
Royal Raven 14 mart. 2019 la 17:30
@Mooserush I feel like sparkpowder is part of the curing process.
Royal Raven 14 mart. 2019 la 17:26
Is this working with the new Kibble changes and update to the game? I am going to try it out, but I am way early game to get Kibble going.
Mooserush 12 nov. 2018 la 1:57
OOh reskin for electric smoker! Any way to remove the sparkpowder requirement as well since it's running off electricity, or do you consider the spark powder as part of the curing process, like salt?
Torkkar 26 oct. 2018 la 19:04
awsome tbh estheticly it will fit with my S+ Kitchen equipment
Nopetard  [autor] 26 oct. 2018 la 15:00
I will be Reskinning the electric smoker and adding new mesh for the smoke house
Torkkar 23 oct. 2018 la 12:49
I think using the Fridge skin would fit better as an esthetic to a High end kitchen addition
GobboKirk 19 oct. 2018 la 14:28
Time to make some jerky :D
Nopetard  [autor] 16 aug. 2018 la 14:15
The preserving trough is working. has about 25 foundation range. the next step is to add the animal chows, non vanilla jerky and implement the ini settings. Once that is done all planed features will be in.
Nopetard  [autor] 16 aug. 2018 la 12:11
I have the preserving trough added in the dev kit. I will be adding an easy version of the jerkies and smoked fish as well as herbie chow and carno chow so I can start adding the ini options. The up coming ini options will be to select vanilla or easy jerky, set crafting speed, and set spoilage timers.
Nopetard  [autor] 29 iul. 2018 la 7:55
Cobo, That is in the works. As well as the smoke house cooking the meat as well.
Cobo 28 iul. 2018 la 10:44
i love the mod! good job, (some ideas - electric should just work no extra mats / smoker uses wood / and sparkpowder/oil one) just thoughts :)
Nopetard  [autor] 27 iul. 2018 la 22:35
Cobo I am still working with that.
Cobo 27 iul. 2018 la 9:11
need to make it to where can set the speed in the gameusersettings.ini
Nopetard  [autor] 24 iul. 2018 la 23:40
At some point I might consider that
Kirjava 23 iul. 2018 la 10:33
Hi, that would be great to have another design for this mod (with metal).
And it could be great too to need metal to build it cause it is something electric so you don't expect to build it with only cheap things like wood and thatch. But thanks for this still
Nopetard  [autor] 12 febr. 2018 la 7:51
I missed setting the name for the smoke house. That will be fixed shortly
Nopetard  [autor] 16 nov. 2017 la 7:33
@desnoyerse That is an interesting thought.
Nopetard  [autor] 16 nov. 2017 la 7:31
I will be trying to test this with stacking mods for the smoked fish production.
PunkR0ckz 15 nov. 2017 la 13:17
Yeah, I can understand that, there's an "easy" fix for it. Make your own version of the jerky and make it spoil super fast (instantly), so it gives the vanilla jerky. :)
Nopetard  [autor] 15 nov. 2017 la 11:34
I am cooking the new update that adds a smoke box preserving bin along with smoked fish and smoked prime fish.
Nopetard  [autor] 14 nov. 2017 la 22:12
I will be recooking the mod to fit with the new level needed for the generator. It has taken forever to get the dev kit runing again.
Nopetard  [autor] 14 nov. 2017 la 18:15
I had tried my own jurky but it wont work for kibble. I will be adding smoked fish and smoked prime fish.
PunkR0ckz 13 nov. 2017 la 13:51
Oh, alright. I thought you had made your own recipe for the jerky. That explains it all then. Can't wait to see the changes :) I really like the idea and all so far, just minor "vanilla-ish" things to polish up I guess its normal since you didn't have much feedbacks it seems.
Nopetard  [autor] 12 nov. 2017 la 22:47
@desnoyerse the oil and sparkpowder is linked to the auto-craft recipe for the jerky. I have my files recovered now and the devkit fully installed so I will be getting back to work on the mods. I want to add an auto feeder that you put stone and flint into. It will then make the spark powder and feed it to the smoker.
PunkR0ckz 12 nov. 2017 la 15:53
Hey, its me again.

After playing much more with this mod, I think it is awesome.
However, it seems to go through Sparkpowder and Oil super quick. I believe it would benefit from having a 25% or 50% consumption on those, as its really hard to keep up with it on a vanilla-ish server.
PunkR0ckz 5 nov. 2017 la 11:34
Hey Nopetard, just another quick feedback.

I think that the 20x multiplier you have set up is almost perfect. After 15 minutes of playing, it created 4 jerky. This seems reasonable for offline single player. It's not SUPER fast, but it's not SUPER slow either. Actually, I kind of like it that way. =)
Nopetard  [autor] 4 nov. 2017 la 21:54
I have been working on incorperating this into my low tech mod too. I want to add a steam powered generator to the mod as well.
PunkR0ckz 4 nov. 2017 la 3:51
Yeah, I totally understand. I had to uninstall the DevKit because my older computer wasn't liking it much (i7-4770K + R9 280x + 16gb RAM DDR3 + SSD).
I might give it a shot now with my new build (Ryzen 5 1600X + 16gb RAM DDR4 3200mhz + SSD + GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid)

I really like the idea of this mod =)
Nopetard  [autor] 3 nov. 2017 la 19:06
@desnoyerse I have not gotten to adjusting it after wildcard moved engrams around. I like your other idea and Will look into that once I have stuff reinstalled. I had one of my ssd drives fail and still need to reinstall the dev kit.
PunkR0ckz 3 nov. 2017 la 17:50
Just a quick heads up:

It was made as a Level 25 engram (if I remember correctly), but you don't get a generator before Level 50-ish, so it is basically useless for 25 levels.

You should also show the engrams inside the electric smoker, so we can see if it is crafting or not. It didn't seem to work for me. May have been a bug though, will come back when I get a generator and give an update, as I believe the structure requires a generator to create jerky... which is not stated obviously in the description. (or at least, I can't figure it out clearly and I have always been told I am a good bilingual, native french canadian/quebecois and english lover xD)
PunkR0ckz 2 nov. 2017 la 18:00
Thank you. Do you think it is something you would create or do I have to look somewhere else?
Nopetard  [autor] 2 nov. 2017 la 17:15
I will look into that
PunkR0ckz 2 nov. 2017 la 16:28
One last thing, lol.

Maybe add support for the Preserving Salt instead of longer spoil timers? That would be a great compromise to keep the Vanilla-ish aspect alive into this mod. =)
PunkR0ckz 2 nov. 2017 la 16:22
Oh and also, if you create my suggestion #1, please make it so it has a bit more slots in it. Maybe 50 would be a great amount?

Raw Meat and Raw Prime Meat could also be "blocked" from being added into it, as the Electric Smoker is made to store them and make jerky out of it.

Just ideas I'm throwing out there. On my old computer I started making a mod similar to this one (without knowing it existed) and those were mainly what I was aiming for, but they were all combined into a Fridge that would do both ideas, which is somewhat silly when I look back at it xD
PunkR0ckz 2 nov. 2017 la 16:13
Hi Nopetard, I really like the idea of this mod, however I have 2 questions.

1- Could you PLEASE make a "Preserving Bin" that ONLY preserves ALL the spoiling items in the game (Berries, Veggies, Cooked and Raw Meats, Jerky, Veggie Cakes, Eggs, Kibble, Honey, Blood Pack, Energy Brew, Medical Brew, Bio Toxin, Bug Repellant, Organic Polymer, Lesser Antidote, Cactus Broth and Wyvern Milk) with a 1.5 to 3 multiplier? (So its not too OP)

2- Could you modify the Electric Smoker to a 7 multiplier please? Meat Dehydrators in real life often make 5 racks of meats in 2 to 4 hours. According to the Wiki, every 14 hours, 24 pieces are made. So by making it 7x it would create 24 pieces every 2 hours, which would be realistic.

If you don't want to make the multipliers I said, it would be really nice to have an .ini option to make them ourselves.

My #1 is something I would really like to see become part of this mod, as it would make sense.

Hoping to have feedbacks from you =)
