Use the community made Alternative Mod Launcher (the AML)
BOTH of the steam/firaxis/2k launchers suck

I have a problem with this mod using the new mod launcher. I had to switch to the old mod launcher in Steam, then the game loaded the mod.

by default it shows the information immediately ...however there is a plug-in mod called "Yet Another F1: Autopsy Required" that changes this mod to do what you desire :)

Does this show info for enemies that haven't been autopsied yet? Would prefer if it didn't, would give the Research a bit of an additional bonus.

I'm glad that worked for you, fweeble! So, after some more troubleshooting, I found that everything works fine if I start a new LWOTC campaign, but my files from before the 2024 update don't recognize Yet Another F1.

Hello!

I also had some issues with this mod not working and wanted to share my experience.

Since I hadn't played XCOM 2 in over 6 years, I had thought it might've been that this was no longer supported, but I tried big_bad_flubber's suggestion and used the old/original mod launcher and it worked perfectly. :)

Thank you for this mod! Being able to see details is just such a nice QoL improvement I miss.

Alternative Mod Launcher is not solving that problem for me. Actually, I found a few people on Reddit saying that the standard launcher worked better for them concerning this issue than the AML did: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/1gugxsy/changes_to_launcher_causing_issue_with_long_war/

F1 button could not work also because of windows protection in real-time, "saving" you by changing the config files in documents. If someone had this problems.

Hi guys, I'm getting an error in LWOTC where this mod says it is only compatible with XCOM 2 and my saves won't open (since an update in late 2024). I've tried playing it with the Alternate Mod Launcher, but I still run into the same issue. I've tried clearing my config using above instructions on 3 separate occasions, as well as unsubbing and resubbing to all mods. Nothing seems to work. Has anyone been able to solve this?

Haven't been able to make this work, even with the AML. Also have YAF1 Extension installed.

My F1 key is connected to my laptop fan control button,... is there a way to edit which key activates the menu?

When you choose the Original Manager, you will not be able to load the original mods the first time you enter. Exit and restart the game, and you will be able to force-select the original mods, and then everything will go smoothly.

I second recent comments: this mod is appearing to be incompatible with WotC, even with the Alternative Mod Launcher. I tried the "clearing your config" solution, unsubbing and resubbing, refreshing mods, and launching with the old launcher. I'm stuck for a solution.

Yes, I can rebind the keys for the other mod I have a conflict with. But I still have the issue of the key for this mod being very inconvenient to use. As much as I would like to use this mod, I can't because I can't change this one's key bind.

There's no re-binding in this mod, if you've a key conflict (e.g. Free Camera Rotation) then re-bind there.

Can you change the F1 button to something else? On laptop, I have to press the Fn button first before I can use any function (F1, F2, F3, etc.) buttons. It's two buttons far apart from each other, so it's awkward to press. It also conflicts with another mod I'm using and because this mod is less usable with my current set up, this is the one I have to give up.

Oh, I see. Well this would be because this is actually showing you the damages of a "two handed" weapon, the left reading is when used as a primary weapon and the right reading is when used as a secondary weapon. If you look to the example screenshots you should see it is always primary weapon on the left, secondary weapon and armour to the right.

Regular Archon Stuff shows 7-8 damage AND 6-9 damage

Some weapon info is incorrect or I misunderstand something.
For example, Archon King's Stuff shows 7-10 damage near the image of the weapon, but on the right it shows 6-9 damage. And many regular weapons are also like that.

Is there a way to change the default hotkey from F1 to something else? F1 is reserved for target1 in targeting.

Appreciate this may be outside the scope of this mod (or any mod, potentially), but is there a way to see if an enemy unit is immune to fire/stun/psi etc? It's the only thing that seems to be missing from this mod and I don't see any other mod filling the gap, so I assume this is technically impossible due to the way the base game is coded?

Yeah, I actually figured it out - it's in the config of YAF1 Profile Extension.
